it's official: Gwen Stefani is joining The Voice as a new coach for season seven. The former No Doubt singer announced the news on Instagram with a photo of her own version of The Voice's iconic hand gesture and a caption reading, "It's true!"
NBC also announced Tuesday that Christina Aguilera, who served as a coach for seasons one, two, three and five, will also return to The Voice's line-up for season eight.

Stefani will join Pharrell Williams as a new coach on the hit NBC singing competition. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are also expected to return to the spinning red chairs of the NBC series.
Aguilera, who is pregnant with her second child, previously served as a coach alongside Levine, Shelton and CeeLo Green. Green announced he was done with the singing competition on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Shakira and Usher also serve as coaches.
News of Stefani's involvement with The Voice broke in mid-April, with a source telling E! News she was on board, but the deal was not official just yet.
The Voice remains one of NBC's most popular series. The sixth season premiere had close to 16 million viewers and a 4.7 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic.
