Lil Wayne sent a shocking ripple through the world of Hip Hop when he broke the news that openly gay rapper Fly Young Red was signed to his label YMCMB. The News Nerd was the first media outlet to get the scoop about Fly Young Red’s signing.
The 31-year-old New Orleans native has now revealed that he will remix Fly Young Red’s controversial track ‘Throw That Boy P*ssy.” Wayne spoke exclusively to The News Nerd saying, “The track is tearing up the clubs right now and we want to push this remix out while it is still hot. My youngin’ is doing his thang in the streets, and we want to show him he has the full support of the team.”
The remix is expected to feature a verse from Nicki Minaj and Drake. It is unknown how the crew at YMCMB will flip the song to make it work for both straight and gay people.
The song is receiving mixed reviews from listeners who feel the raunchy lyrics only help reinforce stereotypes of promiscuity among homosexual men.
A commenter on The News Nerd, who goes by Sophystra, stated, “Gay people hate stereotypes, yet here we are with another sexually charged video that says NOTHING about gay people other than their OBVIOUS sexual preference. Congrats, we’ve been equally stupified by stupidity on both sides of the fence. — I suppose when people still have the idiocy to support this, can’t really say much beyond, yes you ARE the reason, we have bad music artists getting paid.”
Though there have been many frustrated people who share Sophystra’s concerns, some are praising the acceptance of a homosexual rapper. “That’s what’s up! We need more diversity in “Mainstream” hip hop,” a commenter, who goes by Yes wrote on The News Nerd. “Underground hip hop already has a decent number of openly gay/ trans rappers. Props to Young Money.”
The song should be very interesting if nothing else
