RedFoo's X Factor muse Joelle releases debut video, Save Me

Former X-Factor contestant Joelle has filmed a hot new video clip for her debut single Save Me as she forges ahead with her music career.

Joelle, single after splitting from Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess, was sexy and focused as she filmed the video clip in Sydney this week.

“I would describe it as a combination of RnB, pop and soul,” the singer, who goes by her first name professionally, told Confidential.

“I don’t really have a particular genre that I put myself in which I always thought was a bad thing but now I’m discovering it is good because it is something different and fresh.”

Joelle, 23, appeared as a contestant on the X Factor last year, mentored by LMFAO’s Redfoo and known for her street style and out-there attitude.

In 2012 she appeared as a contestant and made it through to the home visits, flying to London with Ronan Keating and meeting One Direction.

She is proud to be releasing the single independently.

“It’s pretty exciting for me because this is like my baby,” she said, shooting a scene at the Backroom in Kings Cross.

Joelle has been working towards this moment for several years.

She moved to LA at the age of 19, where she was snapped up by a small indie label there, but came home when that didn’t work out.

She is studying to be a teacher as well as pushing forward with her music.

“To people from the show, I might seem like some blonde chick who just went on there to be a singer but there’s way more to it and how I ended up with this chance,” she explained.

“Because of everything I’ve been through, I’m taking every opportunity and I’m determined to make this work.”

She continued: “The one thing I always come back to is my music. I’m really full on so music helps me express that and is a great release.

“I love music because I can put a sound to whatever I am feeling at a particular time.”
