Other than Neve, this episode was a disappointment.
_underwhelmed 14th-Apr-2014 04:20 am (UTC)
oooohhh i didnt even recognize her
generationxwing 14th-Apr-2014 07:14 am (UTC)
I was sitting there the whole time thinking it was her, and then halfway through, I decided that I was obviously drunk and imagining things.
headcaseheidi 14th-Apr-2014 11:10 am (UTC)
my queen sidney prescott looked amazing
fauxkaren 14th-Apr-2014 03:43 am (UTC)
Downloading this right now and weeping because my internet is so slow and shitty and this is going to take forever.
boogalooshaman 14th-Apr-2014 03:53 am (UTC)
my exact life rn
epicdonald 14th-Apr-2014 03:43 am (UTC)
I really liked the episode but some of my friends thought it was boring

I just hated that Megan's still around after it seemed like she'd dumped Don at the end of last season. And I wasn't totally clear on what was going on between Peggy and the new guy who kept rejecting her/Freddy's idea.
ladysherlock 14th-Apr-2014 03:44 am (UTC)
I liked it to, and I think it set up the season really well. MM has never been about crazy plot twists up front - it starts slow. Every season people seem to forget this.
epicdonald 14th-Apr-2014 03:48 am (UTC)
That's just what I was thinking. While the show's off the air everyone remembers the really shocking dramatic moments from the previous season and then is disappointed when no one dies in the season premiere.
sallgoodman 14th-Apr-2014 04:01 am (UTC)
Yup. First few episodes are always slow. It sets everything up and catches up with the 3 million characters they have. People bitch about it every damn season like it's something new lol
missedith17 14th-Apr-2014 03:43 am (UTC)
sooooooo vague
ladysherlock 14th-Apr-2014 03:44 am (UTC)
LMAO another iconic promo
backtoblack 14th-Apr-2014 03:44 am (UTC)
This episode didn't do much for me. I hope Megan's cheating on Don though and I enjoyed Pete looking like a sexually repressed Southern frat boy.
wits 14th-Apr-2014 03:44 am (UTC)
i started zoning out during neve campbell's speech about her husband, what was she implying he died from?
flyingpigs_live 14th-Apr-2014 03:46 am (UTC)
alcoholism
wits 14th-Apr-2014 03:48 am (UTC)
oh lol for some reason i thought it was more interesting than that, thanks though!
isthisdesire 14th-Apr-2014 03:58 am (UTC)
"he was thirsty" oh shut the fuck up writers. Look at me I'm a writer on mad men trying to be deep
headcaseheidi 14th-Apr-2014 11:11 am (UTC)
died from overdone mad men storylines tbh
wits 14th-Apr-2014 03:45 am (UTC)
also sooo much ~meta with megan, the agent saying she "inspires strong feelings" and their creepy conversation in the house
reluctantlylove 14th-Apr-2014 03:47 am (UTC)
I really wish the theories regarding sharon tate/megan turn out to be true

rpduckie19 14th-Apr-2014 05:49 am (UTC)
she has always been and always will be the queen of everything
like I fucking love peggy and betty has a special place in my heart (the coldest place) but JOAN JOAN JOANNNNNN
xcollsangelx 14th-Apr-2014 07:00 am (UTC)
Queen of the episode. Queen of the agency. Queen of life.

reluctantlylove 14th-Apr-2014 03:46 am (UTC)
the first episode was basically a setup for how the first half is going to play out.
kamikashi 14th-Apr-2014 03:55 am (UTC)
haha i think ive tried to share links for mad men in each one of these posts for the past 2 years. sharing is caring and i know ppl will ask hehe :]
tiny_winey87 14th-Apr-2014 04:15 am (UTC)
lovee youuu.
1islandinthesea 14th-Apr-2014 01:14 pm (UTC)
You know I love you, bb! Thank you so much for this, as always. I don't know what I'd do without ya!

Will watch tonight and then come back and comment. :)
1islandinthesea 15th-Apr-2014 01:50 am (UTC)
And I watched it and liked it. Would have been better if it started in August of 1969 and Megan had just been brutally murdered by Charlie Manson, but, otherwise a good beginning.

I missed seeing Betty and Sally. Henry not so much.

Joanie was great. So was Peggy. I want Peggy and Don to start their own agency, but since I want it, I know M. Whiner will not give it to me.

What did you think?
Edited cause I used the wrong icon

I actually really liked this episode, especially the Joan and Peggy stuff. I also loved how Don was still finding a way to work. But I still think the cast is way too bloated. I don't even remember who half the people were.

Also, nice to see Cindrella getting work. But I wish she was back on OUAT.
flyingpigs_live 14th-Apr-2014 03:49 am (UTC)
THAT'S who she was! i knew she looked familiar. she looked better on here than she did on OUAT.
wits 14th-Apr-2014 03:51 am (UTC)
she was also hannah on veronica mars lol
kvrminv 14th-Apr-2014 04:46 am (UTC)
omg thank you for this. i was so mad because i couldn't figure out where ive seen her
missedith17 14th-Apr-2014 03:58 am (UTC)
OMG SHE WAS CINDERELLA!

It was driving me nuts trying to figure her out
xcollsangelx 14th-Apr-2014 07:01 am (UTC)
I knew I knew her from somewhere, but didn't realize it was Cinderella.
thesuperpope 14th-Apr-2014 03:50 am (UTC)
Joan received more screen time in this episode than she has in the last two seasons combined. That fact alone makes this episode perfect.

(It was kinda boring. The premieres generally are though. Hoping the next episode is literally Betty and Sally smoking and complaining about Don for an hour.)
sallgoodman 14th-Apr-2014 04:04 am (UTC)
Betty's household needs to have a spin off. Smoking with Betty or something
thesuperpope 14th-Apr-2014 04:16 am (UTC)
I would kill for that. I'd watch twelve seasons of Betty death glare at individuals. Joan can join her occasionally. Peggy too. Basically, all the ladies except Megan can get together and unload on the world. Emmys all around!
headcaseheidi 14th-Apr-2014 11:12 am (UTC)
smoking and shooting
1islandinthesea 15th-Apr-2014 01:51 am (UTC)
Yes, please!
reluctantlylove 14th-Apr-2014 03:52 am (UTC)
yes, though I feel like that would be sort of predictable

car_kids 14th-Apr-2014 03:53 am (UTC)
No, Don dies before the last episode.
ladysherlock 14th-Apr-2014 03:55 am (UTC)
Matt has said we'll find out what happens with Don, and that he could be quite old. So a time jump is possible.
h0tfuss 14th-Apr-2014 04:01 am (UTC)
I agree with you. People always sort of forget that the show is really about how the main characters are being phased out of relevancy. We might see him back on a farm.
epicdonald 14th-Apr-2014 03:58 am (UTC)
I believe I remember at some point MW said the show would end with Don dying, but I also kind of think they'll have him die an episode or two before the end of the show like they did with Lane and leave some time to show the aftermath.

[Spoiler (click to open)]After Breaking Bad and The Sopranos, I hope they think of something other than having the main character dying in the very last scene of the show.
wits 14th-Apr-2014 03:58 am (UTC)
either he dies before the last episode or doesn't die at all imo
crazyspaced 14th-Apr-2014 03:58 am (UTC)
No I don't think so
missedith17 14th-Apr-2014 04:14 am (UTC)
It seems too obvious for him to die, idk
boweeko 14th-Apr-2014 04:43 am (UTC)
I hope not. I don't think it would fit the tone of this show at all.
tigermilk 14th-Apr-2014 04:58 am (UTC)
I honestly don't think so.
crazyspaced 14th-Apr-2014 03:51 am (UTC)
yo, joan was getting shit DONE. I want to see her more involved in the company that way.

and poor peggy. i wish she'd stop getting shit on in her work and personal life. i'm gonna be so mad if she (and joan) don't come out on top by the end of this show.
reluctantlylove 14th-Apr-2014 04:05 am (UTC)
Joan and Peggy should just leave the firm and team up to start their own.
