Andrew Garfield on Emma Stone Question: “My Personal Life Is Not Public Property”

Andrew Garfield had a somewhat awkward red carpet moment with a reporter at Thursday’s Amazing Spider-Man 2 premiere in London when he was asked about girlfriend Emma Stone.

The stars were separately asked which animal’s special abilities they’d love to have for themselves, and Stone replied that she’d probably “want to be a bird.”

When Garfield later said he’d want an eagle’s powers, the reporter said, “Your girlfriend gave the same answer!”

“Who’s my girlfriend? You’re making an assumption about my personal life, and my personal life is not public property,” the actor shot back.

A number of outlets are treating the exchange as though Garfield was particularly testy and upset — but the actual footage seems a little less confrontational.
