Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures have set the release date for King Arthur for July 22, 2016. The project will be directed by Guy Ritchie.
The film, which will be released in 3D and 2D, is expected to be a big tentpole retelling of the famous King Arthur tale. Joby Harold wrote the script.
Ritchie, whose next project to hit theaters will be The Man from U.N.C.L.E., has been working on a King Arthur film with Warner Bros. since 2010. While it looked like that project had fallen by the wayside, it now seems that things are finally back on track.
The project currently has that July 2016 weekend to itself.
