Peaches Geldof autopsy 'inconclusive'.

The autopsy on Peaches Geldof, who died suddenly aged 25, has proved inconclusive, as police continue to await the results of toxicology tests.

Peaches, who wrote for British magazines and newspapers and presented celebrity-driven television shows, was found dead at her countryside home on Monday.

The local Kent Police force in southeast England said her death was being treated as "a non-suspicious, unexplained sudden death".

"A post-mortem examination held on Wednesday following the death of Peaches Geldof has proved inconclusive pending the result of toxicology analysis," police said in a statement.

"Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death in order to compile a report for the coroner. "The result of a toxicology report can take several weeks."

So sad, far too young to be lost. I feel so bad for her two sons, as they'll likely be too young to remember any of the time they had with her.
That said, I'm extremely curious as to what could've caused this. I've heard so much about her juicing diet but I'm not sure if that's a viable theory or just some horseshit stirred up because everyone wants an explanation like, pronto.
Either way, we'll find out soon I guess.
loveinchina 9th-Apr-2014 11:54 pm (UTC)
I can't imagine it being drug related because she was such an advocate for attachment parenting and as far as I know, was still breastfeeding her two boys? Time will well though, I may have to eat my words.

Oh god. I really hope it wasn't drugs after reading this comment :(
bent_ley 10th-Apr-2014 10:20 pm (UTC)
it could have been the first time she used since having the babies. most heroin ODs happen after sobriety. your tolerance goes down and you cant handle it anymore :( heroin users that never take breaks can live a longgggggg time not over dosing
kurtvonnegut 9th-Apr-2014 11:57 pm (UTC)
i think her dietary issues make a lot of sense. she has looked gaunt for a while now. i watched a video of her last appearance and she looks ready to keel over, but not like she's on drugs? that was just my interpretation of it, i admittedly know nothing about what actually happened.
ritsukacom 9th-Apr-2014 11:53 pm (UTC)
Sudden deaths freak me the fuck out.
starchain 9th-Apr-2014 11:56 pm (UTC)
The kind of death that freaks me out the most is sudden infant death syndrome. That's just impossible for my brain to understand.
hellomeru 10th-Apr-2014 12:28 am (UTC)
yeah idg that, what exactly is it? the heart just stops?
buncha_cruncha 10th-Apr-2014 12:57 am (UTC)
It's so freaky. My friend's baby died of SIDS, and aside from being unbelievably tragic, it's just frustrating because with SIDS, the doctors can't really give them a why. No diagnosis, no reason. She was a healthy, happy baby, and then one night, dead.
nicenicegirl 10th-Apr-2014 01:14 am (UTC)
SIDS freaks me out so much. for the first 6 months after my son was born i hardly even slept. and i had a monitor in his room that did audio/video AND tracked his breathing/movement in the crib. and i was still paranoid lol it's just so scary.
ty 10th-Apr-2014 01:19 am (UTC)
Happened to one of my friends. They arrested the parents, took the bb and autopsied her. And then let them out of jail. It ruined them. Drugs, marriage could not make it, and so on.
xdecadentx 9th-Apr-2014 11:59 pm (UTC)
Right?

I mean logically I know that death can happen in so many ways, but still shit like this gets me.
whiskybars 10th-Apr-2014 12:11 am (UTC)
mte

especially when they happen to such young people
hoot 10th-Apr-2014 12:25 am (UTC)
A guy I went to high school with died suddenly in his sleep when he was 19. He was completely healthy, didn't use any drugs, rarely drank. They ruled his death Sudden Adult Death Syndrome, which basically means his heart just stopped and there was no reason for it.
sirlolsworthy 10th-Apr-2014 03:18 am (UTC)
I know of someone whose 13 year old son died because he somehow threw up a little in his sleep, it didn't wake him up, he aspirated the vomit so he stopped breathing, then he had a heart attack and died. All in his sleep. Fucked up.
enamored 9th-Apr-2014 11:54 pm (UTC)
drugs.
starchain 9th-Apr-2014 11:55 pm (UTC)
I didn't even know that was possible.
my_moloko 9th-Apr-2014 11:56 pm (UTC)
That is really weird. I wonder what the toxicology report will say since the cops said they couldn't find any evidence of drug use.
aquaecolore 9th-Apr-2014 11:56 pm (UTC)
why the fuck are people going straight for drugs? it's pretty obvious she had problems with her weight and it seems she's been clean for years
kurtvonnegut 10th-Apr-2014 12:01 am (UTC)
ppl have a weird way of ignoring that EDs kill and after celebs stay thin for a while, ppl stop talking about it and assume everything is fine. see nicole richie - everyone talked about her gauntness for a year or so and now nobody cares.
pine 10th-Apr-2014 12:08 am (UTC)
so true
hello_samm 10th-Apr-2014 12:59 am (UTC)
mte but if nicole were to suddenly drop dead i would go straight to the ED instead of her past drug use.
biene 10th-Apr-2014 12:09 am (UTC)
especially considering most people around her said she was an 'occasional' drug user back in the day(until she realised she would end up like her mum) but the drink was more of a problem.
bent_ley 10th-Apr-2014 10:26 pm (UTC)
because it's the most obvious way for young people to die. especially if they have a drug history and they have been clean for a while. regular opiate users dont OD. the people that OD are the ones that get clean and then relapse with too big of a dose
anterrabre 9th-Apr-2014 11:58 pm (UTC)
Wouldn't they be able to tell already if it were natural causes?
itsintobethin 9th-Apr-2014 11:58 pm (UTC)
i saw her instagram. she seems really devoted to her children. it breaks my heart that she died. she really seemed like she turned her life around.
vervain 10th-Apr-2014 12:00 am (UTC)
thats a beautiful photo of her. they look so in love and happy.
qween_frostine 10th-Apr-2014 12:00 am (UTC)
She looks so lovely in that picture. My heart breaks for her children.
kurtvonnegut 10th-Apr-2014 12:04 am (UTC)
i'm usually bitter as fuck about pictures of couples but everyone picture i've seen of them seems really genuine.
smokesinatra 10th-Apr-2014 12:00 am (UTC)
i asked my friend on a bike (a doctor lmao) about this, bc i wasn't sure what "inconclusive" meant -- i know there was speculation she died of a heart attack or some other body-giving-out-bc-of-diet reason, and i thought for sure the autopsy would reveal that. WELL apparently the "how" can be super obvious (heart attack), but they report it as "inconclusive" until they get the "why" (drugs, drinking, etc).

so for rn it is probably obvious to the coroner how she died, they just report it as inconclusive until they figure out why (which the tox screen and other tests will reveal probs).

then again he's a doctor in the US (and only a doctor, so he's not some autopsy expert lol) and it might be different abroad too, idek.

either way it's super sad tbh. it's such a bummer for kids to lose parents at such a young age :( rip peaches
bluesforgotten 10th-Apr-2014 12:04 am (UTC)
hmm that's really interesting though! i mean, it makes sense.
venetianglass 10th-Apr-2014 12:07 am (UTC)
i came here to say something similar. i had an experience recently where some had a brain aneurysm rupture & that killed them. but after everything came back, the official cause of death was "hypertension with long term drug addiction as a contributing factor".

her death has shades of Brittany Murphy & everyone assumed that was drugs too.
smokesinatra 10th-Apr-2014 12:09 am (UTC)
brittany's death still makes me side-eye to this day. shit is fishy as fuck
heure_actuelle 10th-Apr-2014 12:10 am (UTC)
ah interesting
coodledoodledoo 10th-Apr-2014 12:13 am (UTC)
Well that would make sense. You have a primary cause of death (let's say heart failure, which is my guess as a non-doctor), but there are secondary causes of death as 25 year olds just don't drop dead of heart failure. You have to pinpoint what caused the supposed heart failure; like you, my guess is malnutrition, considering she appeared to have an eating disorder. But I don't know.

It's sad to see someone pull their life together and still die tragically young.
tigermilk 10th-Apr-2014 12:28 am (UTC)
YOUR DOCTOR ON A BIKE
coutureable 10th-Apr-2014 03:32 am (UTC)
That makes sense, because an otherwise healthy adult female shouldn't just have a heart attack. If ou have heart disease, yeah you expect that. If not, it's bizarre.
swilled 10th-Apr-2014 12:00 am (UTC)
a 'healthy' 25 year old does not just drop dead. summmmmmmthin is going on here
nicenicegirl 10th-Apr-2014 01:18 am (UTC)
it actually does happen often. there are so many news reports about it happening. most of the time what it is is something that's gone un-diagnosed but yeah 20-something year olds drop dead often it's scary.
coutureable 10th-Apr-2014 03:33 am (UTC)
It's not unheard of, honestly. People have died in their sleep at really young ages and no one knows why. Heart just stops. Could have been a really slight electrical abnormality in the heart to something that would be super hard to detect.
endingonfire 10th-Apr-2014 12:04 am (UTC)
That's a beautiful picture.

This is so sad and scary :(
reasontorhyme 10th-Apr-2014 12:06 am (UTC)
It is just so sad and to leave behind such a young family. Two sweet bbs who will likely have no memory of her at all and a husband, who for all intents and purposes, seemed to adore her. Not to mention a family, a dad and sisters.

So so sad. Too sad.
