On the set of Jonathan Liebseman’s new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pete Ploszek and Danny Woodburn played the roles of Leonardo and Splinter. According to Deadline, however, neither actor was guaranteed the voice component of the roles, just the motion capture part.
And so the filmmakers have called in Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub to voice Leo and Splinter. It’s not clear if any other Turtles will also be revoiced.
I guess that Ploszek and Woodburn might feel a bit put out by this. Or maybe not. I’ll be interested to see if they go out and do PR for the film.
Some additional shooting on the film is underway right now. It’s starting to look like the Platinum Dunes dudes have had a good look at what they had and are, on set and in the recording booth, setting about some fixes.
Seeing as Noel Fisher, who plays Michaelangelo, has some dialogue in the trailer, and has been fairly well received, I’d expect that he’s got a near certain chance of staying in his seat.
Listen up Michael Bay, you can replace every damn person in this travesty of a movie but Noel...
