Lollapalooza Lineup 2014

Last week, the names of four Lollapalooza 2014 headliners were leaked: Eminem, Skrillex, Arctic Monkeys, and Kings Of Leon. Today, the full lineup has been announced, and along with the aforementioned names, the festival’s top billed acts are OutKast, Calvin Harris, Lorde, the Avett Brothers, and Foster The People. Things get more interesting when you get to the midcard, but for practical purposes, it doesn’t really seem to matter who’s playing: Three-day passes sold out in an hour (at $250 a pop) and that was before the lineup was even announced. You can still cop three-day VIP or Platinum “experiences,” however, or wait until daily passes go on sale here today at 10 AM CST. Here’s the day-by-day breakdown:

Here for my Avett boys!
shalmako 26th-Mar-2014 08:03 pm (UTC)
damn. so many bands I'd want to see. Chicago is an embarrassment of festival riches tbh.
spanishsaharaa 26th-Mar-2014 08:04 pm (UTC)
I thought about going - but now all of my money will be going to flying to see Kate Bush. The lineup for Lolla isn't anything special this year - so that makes me feel a little better.

Curious to see what Interpol's new album will sound like. Excited for Lykke Li too.
humbug 26th-Mar-2014 08:06 pm (UTC)
lmao the kooks
ezzykoenig 26th-Mar-2014 08:28 pm (UTC)
they still make music? they only have like 3 good songs
humbug 26th-Mar-2014 08:33 pm (UTC)
idk, i haven't heard about/from them since one of my college roommates looped "do you wanna" for a week and my indifference turned into irrational hatred

but i do remember when the lead singer said he kicked alex turner in the face lmfao
windinthewires 26th-Mar-2014 08:56 pm (UTC)
The main thing I remember about them is Simon Amstell winding up the lead singer on Popworld

It's Lollapalooza weekend here in Chile! I'm so excited!! And so pissed because Disclosure are going to Lolla Brasil and not here smh

Still like Bonnaroo's lineup the best out of the festivals announced so far. This is probably my least favorite, though I am always hf the Arctic Monkeys, Chvrches, and White Denim.

Foster the people <3. Their new cd is kinda dry, I'm having a hard time getting into most of the tracks. Best friend is everything though omg I cannot get enough of it.
sorryeden 26th-Mar-2014 08:34 pm (UTC)
That's how I'm feeling. I'm underwhelmed by their new album but I love Best Friend. I'm so glad it gave us that song.

best friend is my CRACK rn
petecarl 26th-Mar-2014 09:46 pm (UTC)
I feel like their album is split in two. I like the first half, but I'm willing to turn it off when the second half starts playing.
locadepatioo 26th-Mar-2014 08:09 pm (UTC)
And anyone who buys tickets for this one check Bomba Estéreo, they are great and fun and the lead singer is so cool, they know how to put on a party
callme_morbid 28th-Mar-2014 12:26 am (UTC)
yes! love me some bomba estéreo :)
locadepatioo 28th-Mar-2014 12:35 am (UTC)
omg you know them? that's great! i'm just gonna asume you're either from latin america, or have been here. I don't think they're well known in non spanish speaking countries.
claudsx 26th-Mar-2014 08:13 pm (UTC)
They've got the 3 artists I wanted at Coachella: Gambino, Interpol, and Arctic Monkeys. But overall, meh.
trojanchick99 26th-Mar-2014 08:37 pm (UTC)
I'm holding out hope for an LA Arctic Monkeys show. Otherwise, I'll have to go to OSL since I hear they are playing up there this year.
claudsx 27th-Mar-2014 03:58 pm (UTC)
I hope they play LA! But given that they just had three shows here last Sep/Oct, I doubt it :(

OSL would be fun. I've always wanted to go.
glittersecrecy 26th-Mar-2014 08:55 pm (UTC)
mte @ interpol and arctic monkeys. the lolla lineup seems to fill in all the little gaps in coachella's every year.
lovesetfire 26th-Mar-2014 08:14 pm (UTC)
The headliners are almost identical to Osheaga.
bubblegum_b 26th-Mar-2014 08:22 pm (UTC)
Yea I was kinda dissappointed in that, I'm from Toronto so I could've just gone to Osheaga but the Lolla tickets go on sale before they reveal the lineup. I'm still excited for a chicago adventure though
chibik3r0 26th-Mar-2014 08:53 pm (UTC)
If you've never been to Chicago before, you will love it. It really reminds me of Toronto in a lot of ways, just with a better transit system.
adorealire 26th-Mar-2014 08:26 pm (UTC)
They always are, which makes it convenient for the artist I suppose
phallus 26th-Mar-2014 08:33 pm (UTC)
They're all the same everywhere lol
ladysherlock 26th-Mar-2014 08:35 pm (UTC)
I actually prefer Osheaga's overall line-up.
whowants_candy 26th-Mar-2014 08:17 pm (UTC)
i'll probably spend up my money and go just for the arctic monkeys
