1. Mac Bitcoin Stealing malware spreads through Angry Birds and other Apps

Researchers have discovered a Bitcoin-stealing malware called OSX/CoinThief being spread via cracked apps such as Angry Birds, according to an announcement by security company ESET.

The OSX/CoinThief trojan, first discovered by SecureMac researchers, is being spread via P2P file-sharing networks as cracked versions of OS X text editor BBEdit, graphics editor Pixelmator, media cataloguing app Delicious Library and Angry Birds. The trojan infects Mac OS X machines and steals login credentials related to Bitcoin exchanges and wallet sites through the installation of malicious browser add-ons.

3. Thief Review

There are elements of a better game in Thief — maybe even a great one. I enjoyed Garrett's adventure when it was about stealing, when it was about getting into a structure creatively and sneaking away, about accumulating and spending loot. But I wanted much more of that breaking and entering than it was willing to give me. Thief never quite pulls it together. Instead, too often, I felt like a mouse in a narrow hallway filled with cats.

5. Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare Review

"Different" doesn't always mean good. Unexpected combinations of action and subject matter don't always work out. But here, they're elevating factors in often tired genres. Garden Warfare could have been an underwhelming exercise in missing the point, of mismatched agendas. Instead, it takes the best parts of PVZ to make an experimental shooter that feels freed from tired conventions or compromise.

7. GTA Online Success Means No New GTA for a While

The launch of Grand Theft Auto Online negates the need to release another Grand Theft Auto title so soon after Grand Theft Auto 5, since the multiplayer component's ever-evolving content keeps the game fresh, according to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.

Speaking with MCV, Zelnick said there are no plans to launch another title in Rockstar Games' popular franchise this year. GTA Online is still growing in terms of content and scope, which lessens the need for a whole new GTA title on the heels of GTA 5's September launch.

The second downloadable episode for BioShock Infinite, Burial At Sea Episode Two, will feature an optional mode which challenges players to complete the episode stealthily and using only non-lethal methods, Irrational Games announced today.

Dubbed "1998 Mode," the optional challenge appears to be inspired by Thief: The Dark Project, Looking Glass Studios' first-person stealth game released in 1998. Irrational even created a piece of artwork for Burial At Sea Episode Two's "1998 Mode" that harkens back to the original Thief's trapezoidal box art, seen below.
