American Horror Story‘s Lily Rabe is staying in the terror genre, joining ABC’s alien-themed drama pilot The Visitors, TVLine has learned.
Produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin TV, The Visitors chronicles a race against the clock to defeat an unseen alien enemy out to destroy the world using our most precious resource against us.
Rabe will play Claire Bennigan, a dogged Child Specialist with the FBI investigating a string of strange cases involving children and their imaginary friend “Drill.” Her intuition — and compassion into the child’s mind – are her “superpowers.” But when she makes the devastating discovery that her own son is in the Enemy’s clutches, Claire’s confidence as a mother – and Agent – will be tested.
The cast also includes Revenge‘s Barry Sloane and Heroes‘ Milo Ventimiglia.
Lily Rabe, best known for co-starring in American Horror Story, has signed on to topline in The Veil, the Blumhouse thriller being directed by Phil Joanou.
Thomas Jane and Jessica Alba are already on board the micro-budget horror movie, which will be distributed by Universal.
Veil's story revolves around members of a religious cult known as Heaven's Veil who take their own lives. The truth behind what really happened remains buried deep in the memory of the sole survivor, a five-year-old girl, who returns to the compound as an adult with a documentary crew as an adult. They soon discover something that is far more terrifying than anything they could have imagined.
Rabe will play the adult survivor opposite Alba’s doc filmmaker. (Jane’s role is undisclosed.)
