'Horrible Bosses' Director Switches Genres for 'Uncharted' Adaptation

The last update we heard on Sony's gestating adaptation of the video game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune had Neil Burger leaving the director's chair as Marianne and Cormac Wibberley, the duo behind the National Treasure franchise, were hired to write a new draft of the script. However, since then, Safe House writer David Guggenheim has written a new draft (in addition to scripting Bad Boys 3 for the studio), and that has the project back in development with Horrible Bosses helmer Seth Gordon making the jump to the action genre with the video game adaptation. However, Gordon is no stranger to video games on film.

Gordon made a name for himself after directing the documentary King of Kong, the underdog story about an everyman competing for the world record high score in the original Donkey Kong arcade game.

Since then, Gordon has taken on studio comedies like Four Christmases, Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief. But this is something completely new for the director as the story follows adventurer Nathan Drake on the search for the lost treasure of El Dorado. Of course, the story could have changed with a new script, but we're betting that's still the same basic storyline.

However, despite shuffling through filmmakers like Neil Burger and at one time David O. Russell, with his The Fighter star Mark Wahlberg on board for the lead, the really challenge has been finding an actor to take the lead role of Nathan Drake (which Deadline says is the next step) and pleasing the fans. The loudest call has been for Nathan Fillion, but he's not a bankable enough star on the big screen outside of geek audiences. This seems like a good role for Jeremy Renner, but The Bourne Legacy kind of takes away from that idea. Colin Farrell wouldn't be a bad choice either. Even the presumed casting of Bradley Cooper when Limitless director Neil Burger was still attached was a pretty good idea. Any other thoughts?

I did a quick google search and this character looks different in every image i find LOL

in this image he kinda looks like Detective Amaro from Law & Order: SVU

in this one he looks like the love child of Russell Crowe and Gerard Butler ^_^u

a 'closer' look... hmm this gives me a Tyler Hoechlin vibe

Who would you cast?

I'm not familiar with this game but i think it could be a fun movie. I would LOVE to see someone like Jai Courtney, Aidan Turner or even a mature actor like Mark Strong or Richard Armitage.
