Eddie Cahill is returning to the CBS family, but he’ll have to go Under the Dome to do it.

The former CSI: New York star has been cast in a series regular role as the “reclusive” EMT brother-in-law of Dean Norris’s Big Jim.

Cahill’s character Sam will reportedly form a bond with Rachelle Lefevre’s Julia, and it’s worth noting that a recent installment of Ask Ausiello described him as “the crazy drunk who lives alone in the woods.”

Meanwhile, British actress Karla Crome (Hit & Miss, Misfits) will join Cahill as a Season 2 regular in the role of Rebecca, “a teacher in her 30s whom Big Jim beseeches to start back up the school, though not with the noblest of agendas.”

Under the Dome‘s second season will premiere Monday, June 30 at 10/9c, and the opening hour will feature two major deaths.
