only 3 1/2 years? wow.
how much money would you need to get out of it to do 3 1/2 years in federal prison and have that on your record?
i think i'd do it for like anything above 2 million.

criminals' greed always outweighs their intelligence.

right? he had some of the most rich and powerful people's identities - he could've honestly done some serious damage but he gets caught over THAT?! LOL
blackrose 2nd-Feb-2014 08:52 pm (UTC)
Haha I love how stupid some criminals can be!
perznpoprietess 2nd-Feb-2014 09:01 pm (UTC)
it's why COPS has been one of my fav shows for decades. I live for their lies.

"Officer, i didn't know the care was stolen, my friend let me borrow it"
"Oh, yeah? The screwdriver in the ignition didn't give you pause?"
blackrose 2nd-Feb-2014 08:12 pm (UTC)
And to think, all he had to do was get a basketball/football/rap career and it could have been his freely.

it took me a bit to realize this was a kim joke, not a black man joke.
blackrose 2nd-Feb-2014 08:51 pm (UTC)
I knew people would assume that. Which just shows another thing entirely. I knew if I wrote athlete or rapper everyone would immediately assume it was because he was black but are all athletes black? Rappers? Although it's no secret Kim has a type. Which, to each their own.

How do you steal the ID of the First Lady, wow.

don't answer that hi FBI.

dothefrug Re: Finances post?2nd-Feb-2014 08:31 pm (UTC)
In my experience, local credit union >>>>>>>>>>>>>> any bank.
myxwill Re: Finances post?2nd-Feb-2014 08:40 pm (UTC)
Wells Fargo! I've banked with them since my first job at 17. They're great and in any tom thumb, randalls, safeway etc.
ty Re: Finances post?2nd-Feb-2014 09:10 pm (UTC)
Credit Unions. Fuck banks.
junemeaugust Re: Finances post?2nd-Feb-2014 09:16 pm (UTC)
Not Citibank.
sugarcrawler Re: Finances post?2nd-Feb-2014 09:18 pm (UTC)
I use citibank cause it's free their employees are very nice and helpful the online website however sucks ass and I will need to. Get anew debit card for me to use online debiting/banking (I don't have a credit card)
nene718 Re: Finances post?2nd-Feb-2014 09:22 pm (UTC)
lol at people here praising wells fargo. they've deliberately ruined people's lives before with their practices. and those bullshit fees? i said fuck you to them and went to a credit union.
violetsapphire Re: Finances post?2nd-Feb-2014 09:47 pm (UTC)
I have been with Chase since I was 17 they have always been friendly and the customer service is great.

Two years ago I had fraudulent charges on my account they credited me as soon as I called in tears to tell them.
harleenfrances Re: Finances post?3rd-Feb-2014 05:12 am (UTC)
not chase. i closed my account bc i was desperate and got one of those online payday loans. i paid them back, in full with an insane amount of interest, and they kept auto-debiting my checking account every time i got paid. i went to branch, they closed it, everything was supposed to be fine.

little did i know they never fucking closed it and let the company take the money anyway for six months. so, every time they tried to take money they would charge me an overdraft fee and chase would essentially pay the company even though the account was negative. i got a letter saying i owed a few grand and they were going to start taking money out of my new account every month to pay it back. yeah, fuck no. i closed all my chase accounts that day and cried at the bank to the lady helping me.

a few months later my nana called me and said she saw a report on the news about thousands of customers having that same problem with chase and i shit you not, a few days later i got a letter in the mail from them saying they "fixed" the problem and i had a clean slate with them. it was an awful experience all around. i use wells fargo now only because my company banks with them and i don't have any fees. all big banks suck ass tbh.
shania_cares Re: Finances post?3rd-Feb-2014 05:19 pm (UTC)
I did my banking through a credit union--best customer service by far.
msbombtastic 2nd-Feb-2014 08:19 pm (UTC)
waiting for somebody to comment that he's cute
xmint 2nd-Feb-2014 08:20 pm (UTC)
replacement cards? $71K wasn't enough?
degele 2nd-Feb-2014 08:29 pm (UTC)
uh, he managed to get michelle obama and bill gate's identities?! and he got caught just because he ordered something under his actual address omg what an idiot, if he was slick about it then he would've been rollin' forever
hank_kowalski 2nd-Feb-2014 08:32 pm (UTC)
I mean, if you can change a stranger's account to yours and you can send CCs to a different address, why can you not use a p.o. box?
anagram42 2nd-Feb-2014 08:30 pm (UTC)
if i were in his position with his brain, i would take enough money to pay for community college classes (plus some more just for fun) in business or comp sci or something and work for a career in something like that bc clearly he has the capacity for it
degele 2nd-Feb-2014 08:39 pm (UTC)
fuck that, i'd become a revenge criminal mastermind and just steal from assholes like woody allen, dictators, and overall douchebags and just take all their shit and anonymously donate to charities
sky3205 2nd-Feb-2014 08:52 pm (UTC)
right????????
hank_kowalski 2nd-Feb-2014 08:31 pm (UTC)
How fucking stupid do you have to be to try that with the former director of the FBI and the FLOTUS?

Maybe he stole theirs because he is going tp plead criminal idiocy.
ty 2nd-Feb-2014 08:35 pm (UTC)
Meanwhile, in other news, people who got victimized at Target and Neimann Marcus...

fuck them
myxwill 2nd-Feb-2014 08:42 pm (UTC)
First rule of any hacking. Do not go after any .gov, .edu, .mil sites or any people affiliated with these institutions. Even if you have the best vpn, proxies, mac address spoofing, they will find you.
pleasdtomeetme 2nd-Feb-2014 08:51 pm (UTC)
Well, I'm glad he's in prison.

Years ago, someone stole my parents' identity. They were caught when trying to order a pizza by a suspicious delivery driver, and it turned out to be the people in the house behind us. Only jailed for the night, and the authorities just didn't feel like pursuing it. Then the same thing (with the same lazy police result) happened to a friend of mine recently in the same town. I recall it being related to a meth ring. The whole experience was stressful and dumbfounding. And also my mom would run into the thief on a number of occasions, and the woman would try to "apologize" to her.
