News of their marriage earlier this month caused some raised eyebrows, but now Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon are opening up about their relationship.
On Thursday (January 30), Whitney Houston's daughter and her adopted brother sat down with Extra to talk about their new life together.
Asked about how they dealt with the criticism, Bobbi admitted, "It lit a fire up under our a-- and we went haulin'," while her hubby added, "The critics can say whatever they want to say… it's like we have a force field and that s--t's just bouncing off of it."
When the pop diva took in Nick as a child, Nick shared, "We were young. Krissy looked at me as an older brother, and I looked at her as a little sister.”
Though sparks didn't fly until after Whitney's death in 2012, Nick insisted, "She made me promise several times to look after Krissy… and, Mom, I will never ever, ever break that promise," as Bobbi noted, "She wanted this. This is something she wanted to see."
As for grandma Cissy, the new bride explains, "She told both of us that she loved us very, very, very much, and Nick came up and he said ‘Grandma, I want to marry her. Is it okay? I need your blessing to do this, if I don’t have your blessing I won’t feel right,’ and she looked at him and she smiled. She smiled very wide and said, ‘Yes, son, you have my blessing.”
