The Hollywood hard man threatened to "beat the crap" out of the pop god (l o l) if they ever met.
So it's a brave/stupid move by lady magnet Harry to actually arrange a meeting. But those hoping for a Celebrity Deathmatch-type clash will be disappointed.
Harry has followed Michael Jackson's motto by proving he's a lover not a fighter. The pop hunk has invited Mark and his family to a VIP night at one of his group's US stadium gigs this summer.
Harry reached out through his US advisers to offer Mark - who was a teen pop heartthrob in the 1990s as Marky Mark - tickets and backstage passes at one of their Where We Are shows in Boston.
An insider said: "Harry saw the clip of Mark threatening to beat him up online and thought what he said was very funny. He is a big fan of his movies so he wanted to say that he appreciated his humour. He told his US team to contact Mark and offer him and his family the full VIP treatment."
The Ted star spoke about his kids' love for 1D when he went on a US chat show.
Claiming that he could no longer get a look-in with his daughters because of Harry and co, Mark joked: "The girls have turned to One Direction and they don't care about Daddy. My four-year-old's going, 'Daddy, I like Harry'. And I'm like, 'Well I'm gonna punch Harry in the nose when I see him'. She pulls out pictures of him and she is hiding pictures in the room and I pretend I'm ripping them up and I get jealous. But if I see that little pr*ck, he's gonna get it."
I'm guessing Harry's big burly security team will be on hand just in case!
