The latest performers for the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast were announced today. Performers added to the lineup are current GRAMMY nominees John Legend, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban, as well as nominee Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr — who as members of the Beatles will receive the 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award. Other special performances include nominee Sara Bareilles together with four-time GRAMMY winner and 2014 MusiCares Person of the Year Carole King.

This will be the first performance on the GRAMMY Awards telecast for Bareilles, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Musgraves, and Starr.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have seven nominations: Album Of The Year and Best Rap Album for The Heist; Song Of The Year for "Same Love" (along with Mary Lambert); Best Rap Performance (along with Wanz) and Best Rap Song for "Thrift Shop"; Best Music Video for "Can't Hold Us" (along with Ray Dalton, Jon Jon Augustavo, Tricia Davis, Honna Kimmerer, Jenny Koenig, and Jason Koenig); and Best New Artist.

Musgraves and seven-time GRAMMY winner Swift have four nods each: Musgraves is nominated for Best New Artist, has two nominations in Best Country Song for "Mama's Broken Heart" (along with Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally) and "Merry Go 'Round" (along with McAnally and Josh Osborne), and is nominated for Best Country Album for Same Trailer Different Park; Swift is up for Album Of The Year and Best Country Album for Red, Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Highway Don't Care" (along with Tim McGraw and Urban), and Best Country Song for "Begin Again."

Bareilles and 16-time GRAMMY winner McCartney are each up for two awards: Bareilles is nominated for Album Of The Year for The Blessed Unrest and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Brave"; and McCartney is up for Best Rock Song for "Cut Me Some Slack" (along with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear) and Best Music Film for Live Kisses (along with Jonas Åkerlund, Violaine Etienne, Aron Levine, and Scott Rodger).

Nine-time GRAMMY winner Legend and four-time GRAMMY winner Urban each have a nomination: Legend is nominated for Best R&B Album for Love In The Future; and Urban has a nod in Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Highway Don't Care" (along with McGraw and Swift).

Previously announced performers include current nominees Daft Punk with nominee Nile Rodgers (of Chic), nominee Pharrell Williams, and 25-time GRAMMY winner Stevie Wonder; nominee Kendrick Lamar joined by nominees Imagine Dragons; nominee Lorde; eight-time GRAMMY-winning group Metallica and GRAMMY Cultural Ambassador to China Lang Lang performing together; nominee Katy Perry; nominees Pink and Nate Ruess (of Fun.); nominee Robin Thicke and GRAMMY-winning group Chicago, whose debut album was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame this year; and a special performance featuring Merle Haggard, 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, and nominee Blake Shelton. Also performing with Daft Punk are the RAM (Random Access Memories) session players: Chris Caswell, Nathan East, Omar Hakim, and Paul Jackson Jr. Two-time GRAMMY winner LL Cool J returns as host of Music's Biggest Night.

The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards are produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich is executive producer, Louis J. Horvitz is director, and David Wild and Ehrlich are the writers.

Music's Biggest Night will take place live on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network from 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). The telecast also will be supported on radio worldwide via WestwoodOne, and covered online at GRAMMY.com and CBS.com. Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced soon.

what do you want people to perform at the grammys?
lr489 14th-Jan-2014 04:21 pm (UTC)
each year they give less and less awards on the broadcast.
invisiblegirlx 14th-Jan-2014 04:23 pm (UTC)
meh i don't really care about the awards anyway. it should be more about the performers.
chandyland11 14th-Jan-2014 04:25 pm (UTC)
....its an awards show
invisiblegirlx 14th-Jan-2014 04:36 pm (UTC)
yeah but it's also a music awards show, which makes me want to see the nominees perform. the awards of course are important, but I personally like to see the performances more than the patting on the back and the speeches.
bungalowtick 14th-Jan-2014 04:48 pm (UTC)
yeah ia i like seeing what everyone has to offer from their respective genres
soba_kasu 14th-Jan-2014 04:26 pm (UTC)
oh great i cant wait to watch paul mccartney get rolled out on his wheelchair to play some boring song from 50 years ago. can we give these spots to new talent please?
2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 04:27 pm (UTC)
how dare u he's got a new album out
invisiblegirlx 14th-Jan-2014 04:38 pm (UTC)
He performed a couple of years ago too, so I would take a pass. But you are wrong on the boring songs. Those songs are still amazing today.
soba_kasu 14th-Jan-2014 04:58 pm (UTC)
as a music student I've had everything Beatles shoved down my throat my whole life as the ~~best music that has ever existed~~ so i absolutely hate them. oh. u live in a yellow submarine how poignant
invisiblegirlx 14th-Jan-2014 05:08 pm (UTC)
Haha well I can understand that, and I agree that they are overrated, but there are some gems there. There are also 50 year old songs that aren't boring. the 60s were a pretty great decade for music, both obscure and well known.
soba_kasu 14th-Jan-2014 06:04 pm (UTC)
Im so here for 60s girlgroups

2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 04:27 pm (UTC)
tay should do either all too well or some awesome mash up
watch her do trouble again smh
the_pinkdress 14th-Jan-2014 04:33 pm (UTC)
i was going to say the exact same thing! i would LOVE to have her end the red era with an amazing ATW performance, especially since ATW was so definitive for red for her fans. but i'm guessing she'll do a mashup of her singles.
2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 04:35 pm (UTC)
idk the fans are being so vocal about ATW on twitter, maybe she'll listen?
but actually i've been super into an idea of a mash up lately, but i'd like if it were the song from all the 4 albums but that makes no sense whatsoever
flshphotography 14th-Jan-2014 05:34 pm (UTC)

I really like the mashup idea...she should do her biggest hit from each album...but with all too well instead of anything else from red lol
2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 05:35 pm (UTC)
sigh she would slay :( too good to be true
flshphotography 14th-Jan-2014 05:46 pm (UTC)
right? she is gonna be boring as usual though :(
lovelyluna34 14th-Jan-2014 04:44 pm (UTC)
they just won't give out many awards not surprising.
bungalowtick 14th-Jan-2014 04:47 pm (UTC)
what if they do all too well with keith urban on guitar like white horse with john mayer that one time
lol jk they won't
it'll probably be a semi-embarrassing potentially cute mashup of all the pop songs (much to my dismay) but at least it'll make people mad
2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 04:50 pm (UTC)
people will be mad whatever she does lol

rebeljean 14th-Jan-2014 05:13 pm (UTC)
Excited for Paul and Ringo. Hopefully they perform together.
stussytribe 14th-Jan-2014 05:54 pm (UTC)
paul mcartney?
prophecypro 14th-Jan-2014 05:58 pm (UTC)
Kendrick and Imagine Dragons are performing together?

Marginalize that boy's shine why dont you smh
svexsal 14th-Jan-2014 06:05 pm (UTC)
Can we just not with LL Cool J? He's the worst fucking host ever.

I wish that Led Zeppelin would play because they're twice nominated. But Robert Plant wants nothing to do with it.
I just hope he attends.

kknee13 14th-Jan-2014 09:24 pm (UTC)
I s2g if Taylor sings Begin Again because that's what she's nominated for
listen to what the fans are begging for and sing all too well please
2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 09:25 pm (UTC)
looool if she sings begin again smh
kknee13 14th-Jan-2014 09:47 pm (UTC)
I get why she sang it at the cma's but seeing it after than one time it really doesn't need to be repeated

if she does a mashup from all of her albums grant's going to be eating his words he said about carrie underwood during this past cma's lol
2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 09:48 pm (UTC)
i'm feeling like she'll actually do all too well just because i want the mash up so much lol
also grant has been killing me with his brazil tweets
kknee13 14th-Jan-2014 10:00 pm (UTC)
people hounded scott like crazy about it on twitter so hopefully he took a hint

lmao grant on twitter period cracks me up, always so sassy
2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 10:05 pm (UTC)
even if she does it tho i feel like she needs to come up with a whole new performance cause i don't think 3 minute speech will work at the grammys lol and people won't connect so much without knowing the song first but maybe that's just me seeing the same live for a year talking

lol yeah altho sometimes it's borderline awkward but he's the only one of tay's band i am still following
kknee13 14th-Jan-2014 10:15 pm (UTC)
oh yeah you're right, and I wonder if the grammys would even allot her like 7 minutes to sing the song the way she does when she's playing on the piano, especially for a b-side song. Her whole performance to preface the song would be like 10 minutes

oh yeah sometimes it's awkward because I don't think he realizes sometimes he's actually offending people
2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 10:18 pm (UTC)
yeah idk but I'm really excited to see what she ends up doing! the main thing I want is for her to slay so people can keep on being bitter

do you think she has a chance at winning?? I was pretty convinced but ontd somehow unconvinced me lol
kknee13 14th-Jan-2014 10:38 pm (UTC)
oh yes I just want her to slay too whatever she does

I'm not sure, I can see best country album happening but I'm not really sure about album of the year though, and everyone keeps saying Mackelmore is the obvious winner. I want it so bad for her though lol. I didn't think it would happen in 2010 and it did, it just seems unlikely because she just won it
2morrowww 14th-Jan-2014 10:48 pm (UTC)
ugh I don't want her to win country because people are never going to shut up about it plus this album truly doesn't deserve it lol
the fuck is mackelmore :( idk red was such a successful album tho!! I'm gonna be sad if she doesn't get it
kknee13 14th-Jan-2014 11:13 pm (UTC)
yeah, red is just simply not a country album. I'm getting the feeling that since she said she's already working with MaxMartin her next album will be even more pop.. I wonder if they will ever truly give up giving her country noms. I'll be sad about red too, especially since I think lyrically red is so much better than fearless
nineteensix196 14th-Jan-2014 10:44 pm (UTC)
Ugh I'm so annoyed at how they don't show love to R&B artists - they never let them perform anymore and never do their awards for the telecast. Shit let the people who can actually sing SANG. Tamar and Bey please :/
