Christina Aguilera's jaw-dropping 40-pound weight loss was due to a low-carb diet and yoga workouts, Now reported Nov. 28.
Aguilera's diet combines high-quality fats like avocado with lean proteins like chicken breast or fish for lunch and dinner and includes healthy snacks like almond butter with celery.
The Grammy winner also credits yoga workouts and an active lifestyle for her stunning weight loss. "I did some yoga," Christina told Extra.
I have these paintball guns, and we're just blowing off steam. It's so much fun. I need to get paintball guns in my house. That's the best idea I've ever heard in my life.”
Aguilera has not given specifics about her weight loss, but she has reportedly shed about 40 pounds since April 2013.
Tabloids have made outlandish claims, saying Aguilera has lost 50 to as much as 80 pounds, but fitness experts say the 5-foot-2 blonde has only shed about 40 pounds.
Because of Christina's small-boned frame, a 40-pound weight loss is very dramatic. Had she gained 80 pounds, she would have topped the scales at close to 200 pounds; fitness experts say that's absurd. Before-and-after photos clearly show Aguilera did not approach 200 pounds.
Christina, 32, has long brushed off fat-shaming comments, saying they don't bother her, but admitted that working out makes her feel great.
In May 2008, Aguilera lost 40 pounds just four months after giving birth to son Max by combining cardiovascular workouts and weight-lifting for 90 minutes a day, five days a week, and following a low-carb, high-protein diet.
"I feel a sense of accomplishment," Christina said. "As you feel your body getting stronger, you become more motivated to be in the gym!
"It doesn’t matter how big or small you are. When you’re defined, it’s sexy. I exercise because it makes me feel good. It’s not just a physical thing."
