The future not does not look bright for The Killers, with guitarist Dave Keuning saying he is ‘sick’ of touring following bassist Mark Stoermer’s absence at gigs.
Speaking backstage at a concert in Hong Kong, one which Stoermer missed due to ‘personal reasons’, Keuning told NME: ‘I am sick of this. I’m done. The end is in sight.
‘Some people might go, ‘Why are you complaining?’ But you haven’t done what I have done, so you can’t relate. We just toured a s**tload.’
Other Killers members singer Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vanucci have also spoken about how draining touring has been, with Vanucci saying: ‘I don’t want to blow the top on it. Being part of this machine is physical and mentally exhausting.’
Asked if he thought they would carry on if Stoermer quit, he added: ‘I’d hope we’d keep trucking on. But at the same time, it isn’t the same band.'
The signs aren’t exactly good for the future, with the band’s last release being a greatest hits album with one new track tacked on to the end.
Flowers meanwhile recently said that he plans to spend 2014 working on a new solo album
