Buckle up, Australians

Whoop Whoop! Insane Clown Posse – the self-professed “most hated band on the planet” – have announced dates for their first Australian tour in over 10 years.

Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope will be gathering their Juggalos at The Gov in Adelaide (Dec 4), The Hifi in Brisbane (Dec 5), The HiFi in Melbourne (Dec 6), The HiFi in Sydney (Dec 7) and the Metropolis in Fremantle (Dec 8).

The band let slip they were returning to Australia at the annual Gathering Of The Juggalos festival in August, with Violent J announcing on stage “In November the Insane Clown Posse returns to Australia, which is awesome, because last time I went to Australia I got laid three times.” The band was last on our shores way back in 2003 following the release of ICP’s eighth studio album The Wraith: Shangri-La, when they played Roundhouse in Sydney, The Arena in Brisbane, HiFi in Melbourne, and Uni Bar in Adelaide.

The tour will no doubt inject some much-needed funds into the ICP bank account,as the announcement comes only weeks after Andrea Pellegrinifor, a former publicist and lawyer for the rap duo, announced she was suing the band’s record label Psychopathic Records for sexual harassment. The band also reportedly owe Gathering Of The Juggalos festival vendors $300,000, with many contractors who worked at last month’s event in Illinois complaining they had received rubber cheques from ICP.

The band’s label released a statement addressing the losses: “Unfortunately, in our attempt to provide the best possible event for our fans, expenses exceeded estimates and expectations, which we had not previously planned for. The company putting on the event, Juggalo Gathering Inc, has no intention of turning its back on these financial obligations and is in the process of preparing a plan to take care of all vendors.”

Support at all shows will come from Boondox and Big Hoodoo.
