Taylor Swift has co-written a song, "Sweeter Than Fiction", with Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff.
The "poppy" song was penned for the soundtrack of One Chance, starring Julie Walters and James Corden. The upcoming movie, helmed by The Devil Wears Prada director David Frankel, follows Paul Pott's journey from Welsh steel mill worker to famed opera singer after an appearance on Britain's Got Talent.
The film has drawn comparisons to The Full Monty and Billy Elliot. "This is not a bullshit fairy tale," says film producer Harvey Weinstein. "It's gritty, a great cast, it's grounded."
Weinstein has credited Simon Cowell for getting Swift involved in the soundtrack: "Simon knows her through the One Direction connection and he thought she'd be touched by the film, and he was right because she was."
Swift is expected to unveil the song at the movie's premiere during the Toronto International Film Festival next Friday.
The singer is no stranger to the world of movie soundtracks, having previously written songs for Hannah Montana: The Movie, Valentine's Day and The Hunger Games.
