Angel's Knoll had become a popular tourist spot in downtown Los Angeles, after a bench's use in the breakout movie from Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel filmed several pivotal scenes on one particular bench in the 2009 cult film.
However, it has now been fenced off and closed to the public due to state cutbacks, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Webb has expressed his sadness upon hearing of the closure, saying: "I don't know enough about civic agencies, and God knows budgets are difficult things to manage, and, let's be honest, maybe there are better things to spend money on.
"But you know what? I'll miss my bench."
