Azealia Banks has revealed that her new Pharrell produced/assisted single “ATM Jam” was originally intended for Beyoncé.
In an interview with BBC Radio 1′s Zane Lowe the controversial rapper revealed that Pharrell had originally wanted her to write a verse for Beyoncé but that she struggled to write suitable content for the singer.
“Well I actually went to Miami to do a feature for Beyoncé and originally he gave me the song because he wanted me to write it for Beyoncé,” explained Banks.
“She wanted to rap or something and wanted me to write a song, and I couldn’t come up with anything that I thought would be appropriate for her just because I’m so raunchy, but I wrote the song. I wrote like some verses on it and he was just like ‘you should just keep it’”.
“ATM Jam” is the second official single to be lifted from the rapper’s forthcoming debut album “Broke With Expensive Taste”.
Funny thing is Pharrell's hook is the weakest part of the song. Glad it won't be on Bey's album either way.
