Zooey Deschanel ‘New Girl' moves to Netflix from Hulu Plus

Starting Monday July 8 Zooey Deschanel’s “New Girl” will be aired exclusively on Netflix. Season one of “New Girl” will be available on Monday through an exclusive agreement with 20th Century Fox. The move marks one of the earliest arrivals of a television series on Netflix. Details of the agreement have not been disclosed but Hulu Plus subscribers need to be aware.

Once “New Girl” begins airing on Netflix, Hulu loses the rights to broadcast the show. This means Hulu Plus subscribers will no longer have access to past episodes. If you are not all caught up, the 4th of July weekend is a perfect time to do some binge-watching.

Netflix is thrilled to be able to ink such a deal. “We are thrilled to be able to offer it so quickly to our U.S. subscribers,” Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos stated in his issued statement. “We know our members love comedies and that they’ll enjoy watching all the current and future episodes of “New Girl” whenever and wherever they want.”

Update: Season 1 is already available on instant.
