HOECHLIN AND POSEY SAY SOMETHING OFFENSIVEly cute | Tyler Posey interview from 'The Exes'

Last month was a good one for us here at Sugarscape. Not only did we spend approximately 92.5 hours perving over fit members of the male species, but we also celebrated the release of Teen Wolf Season 2 on DVD (it's out NOW!) by jetting off to Los Angeles to get up close and personal with stars Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin on the actual set of the MTV show.

After having a peek behind-the-scenes (read: pretending we were a student at Beacon Hills High School and dating Scott) we sat down for a chat with the wolfy twosome (read: stared at their hot hot faces while trying to remember that we were there to form words and ask questions) and found out all kinds of insider gossip to share with you lovely people.

Who would win in a fight between the TW lot and the Twilight Wolves, for example, what kind of gals Tyler P and Tyler H are attracted to - and even who has the best wolfy growl. Let's start with exactly what Tyler had to say for himself, shall we?

Hi Tyler, let's start with the most important question - and the one that we've been thinking about all the way on the plane over here. What attracts you to a girl?

[laughs] I'd say honesty and being truthful, her personality - she can’t be a butthole. It’s okay to be high-maintenance sometimes cos I’m cool with that, I get it, but you have to be respectable. She’d have to be really cool and awesome and rad and just hang with me and be my best friend.

Trust us when we say we could totally be your best friend. And we are in no way a 'butthole'. So moving on to more programme based questions - Season 2's finale was VERY dramatic. What can we expect from Season 3?

Even more dramatic, emotional and intense scenes. With that there’s also funny, hilarious scenes and crazy action and more insane psychotic characters and more awesome of the same characters you already know.

Do we learn a bit about the background of certain characters too?

Oh yes, you'll definitely learn a lot more about each of the character’s backgrounds which is really cool. There’s a lot of character history that is unearthed and the acting is way more fun this season because of that so it’s awesome.

Obviously Scott looks very different when he's in wolf form - how much effort goes into transforming you before you can do your wolfy thing on set?

I like to call it the synthetic flesh they put around our eyes the 'Zorro mask'. It's gross, but basically that’s all they do - they glue this thing on my face which looks like this they put eyebrows on me, then add sideburns, a hair triangle, fangs, eye contacts, claws... and then they airbrush my face and that’s about it really.

Sounds... sweaty. So, what's the hardest thing about being a wolf?

The make-up. Being the wolf is fun, and acting as the wolf is fun - I get to be sort of like a maniac - but the make up takes so much time!

You do a lot of super speedy wolf running too - is that difficult? We would find that difficult.

It is actually - I’m not in the best shape so I cant run very long, and there’s a lot of running like you say! It’s a lot of treadmill on green screen which gets annoying after a while cos its just repetitive, and I just wanna get it over with - so I sprint as hard as I can and by the end I’m like throwing up. Running sucks.

Yeesh. Now, how about the kissing scenes - are they ever awkward?

Usually during the rehearsals they don’t get as steamy as when we're filming, but no, they’re never awkward. I don’t know if that’s me and I just don’t care? But nope, I’ve never had one awkward kissing scene.

How many snoggy rehearsals do you do?

Maybe 3-5? No, maybe 2-4.

Gahd we're in the wrong profession. Tell us, if you could have one werewolf trait, what would it be?

Hmmm. You know how they can grow facial hair and suck it back into their face? I wish I could do that. I hate shaving, it hurts. Let me think of another one. [thinks for a fairly long time] They’re pretty fast, and he can run forever. I would like to have Scott’s lungs.

Thanks Tyler, you wolfy god you.

Hey there Tyler H. So, Season 2 of Teen Wolf is OUT NOW in the UK - what's your favourite memories of shooting the second series?

As far as the character goes, just to have the fun side of Derek finally come out was an interesting thing to play - because in Season 1 we comment on how he never smiles and he’s always upset about everything. Season 2 fans got to see the lighter side of Derek come out a little - a bit of that swagger, that confidence that was kinda starting to brew with him, that was fun to play.

Are we going to learn anymore about Derek's past in Season 3?

We learn a lot about Derek’s past in Season 3 actually - a lot of the mysteries that have been surrounding him from the beginning of the show get revealed and some other secrets too, some other things with our mythology on the show also are kind of made clear. There's also more twists and more action than any of the previous seasons for sure.

We're here on the set in LA - what do you get up to between takes?

Usually take a trip to craft services to get popcorn which is my kryptonite. We put a popcorn machine on set this year which was a terrible idea, cos I ate it all the time. Either that or a bunch of the guys will throw around a baseball or a football and play catch - just kinda keep it casual. Then there’s certain scenes that obviously demand more attention and focus, so you kinda cut and then go and sit by yourself until after you've finished the scene - then you can go back to having a good time. It’s a very light set; we’re all really good friends actually which makes it really nice.

What's the hardest thing about acting like a wolf?

The growl which is why I don’t do it, I let them take care of that in post-production and add it in. I just open the mouth as wide and ferociously as I can I guess, and then I let them make it sound like it sounds - good, because mine would be terrible!

Do any others growl or do they do a sort of silent scream like you?

Posey actually gets more of a grunt out than I do, mine’s just like a raspy whisper. l o l

Who would win in a wolfy fight between the TW lot and the Twilight werewolves?

[laughs] Tyler Posey came up with the best answer for this, and I will back it – the teen wolf werewolves would win because we have opposable thumbs. Ever since I heard that one I was like I’m stealing that answer and using it. It’s the only way I could justify it.

So you’d use opposable thumbs to beat Taylor Lautner?

When push comes to shove I think we might, I don’t know. They’re pretty vicious looking.

And now the most important question of all - how do you get a girl's attention?

Oh I’m so bad at it. I usually would just go with the typical ‘Hi’ – I’ve never been able to do the pickup lines, I’m usually like too shy, so yeah, that’s pretty much it. Meeting girls you’re either friends with or friends of a group that’s the easiest way. I could never do the whole pick up thing. Unless I have a script in front of me and I know the other character has to say yes it’s a disaster.

Erm, we'd just like to point out that there's no way we would say no. Y'know if you were ever thinking of asking.... but thanks Tyler, lovely to talk to you!

So, there you have it - Tyler and Tyler reveal all. What do you reckon to everything they had to say?
