Demi Moore Remains Silent About Why She Didn’t Attend Daughter’s College Graduation

Demi Moore’s suspicious absence from her daughter Scout Willis’ college graduation is growing more mysterious as she won’t answer why she missed the milestone event for her youngest child. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Demi was a no-show at Scout’s Brown University graduation on May 26 in Providence, Rhode Island. Her father Bruce Willis and her stepmom Emma Hemming were there helping her celebrate the big day along with her sisters Rumer and Tallulah Willis.

But her mom, 50, was nowhere to be seen, raising speculation about why she didn’t attend. Her representative didn’t return a request for a comment about her absence to RadarOnline.comDemi hasn’t been photographed in Los Angeles since May 22 after attending a yoga class in Hollywood. Her new boy toy Will Hanigan jetted back to his Australian home and he recently said that their relationship was “complicated.”Demi has been estranged from her daughters following her split from her husband Ashton Kutcher in 2011 and her early 2012 stint in rehab but she did attend Tallulah’s high school graduation in June 2012, so her absence at Scout’s is raising a red flag for those around her.

“Demi is trying so hard to repair her relationship with her daughters,” a source told RadarOnline.com.“Not showing up to Scout’s graduation doesn’t seem like something she would do since she’s been making such an effort lately.”

Why so heartless, Demi?
iinconcinnus 30th-May-2013 10:18 pm (UTC)
She ain't no Amanda Bynes
snapiphany 30th-May-2013 10:20 pm (UTC)
Damn. I wonder what kept her away. And wrangling young dick in the outback ain't a valid excuse. I didn't even go to my college graduation. Waste of time and gas, tbh.

On that subject, my brother was supposed to graduate HS tomorrow. He waited until the last minute to tell everyone he wouldn't be graduating because he was scared of how our dad and his mother would react. People were planning to drive down and our father's still flying in tonight, anyway. Still don't know the full details, but apparently half the class (like 200-300 kids) won't be graduating along with him. idek.

damn, that sucks. did he just not pass?
snapiphany 30th-May-2013 10:27 pm (UTC)
I think so. He was always vague about his grades when any of us asked him. Plus he said something about failing a questionnaire and it was just confusion all around.
mondler_4ever 30th-May-2013 10:24 pm (UTC)
Something must be up if half his class isn't graduating.
blowinmoneyfast 30th-May-2013 10:24 pm (UTC)
damn. what is that school doing wrong
suburban_war 30th-May-2013 10:26 pm (UTC)
Whoa. That's a lot of kids to not be graduating
hoppi2112 30th-May-2013 10:27 pm (UTC)
damn that's a lot of kids to not graduate (half)

last year someone at my university was reported missing after his parents came to graduation and he was no where to be found. Turns out he dropped out months earlier and was too scared to tell them and just dipped.
duckyduck92 30th-May-2013 10:27 pm (UTC)
"but apparently half the class (like 200-300 kids) won't be graduating along with him"

what in the fuck? that is not normal, where do you live?
ticklemepink127 30th-May-2013 10:48 pm (UTC)
holy shit that's a huge number. Though I can kind of sympathize, our school system fucked things over (luckily the year after I graduated) and took out our top ranking IB program where we were constantly among the top schools but it also happened to be a school where a lot of wealthier families had their kids attend (it was public though). People thought it was put there on purpose bc of the rich kids (obvs not the case, we just had amazing and dedicated teachers) so they took the program and put it in a hs where it wasn't as strong and since then, my hs went from one of the top in the nation to just plain sad :/ our education system is fucked up.
myxwill 30th-May-2013 10:50 pm (UTC)
Wow, did they get caught cheating?
la_geni 30th-May-2013 10:52 pm (UTC)
The exit exam in Cali is so damn easy but a ton of people don't pass it and you basically have two full years to redo it. At least back in 2006 if you didnt pass it by Senior year you had to go to adult school and couldn't walk in graduation.
vonlisbon 30th-May-2013 11:25 pm (UTC)
I hope they all just accidentally used a #1 pencil on their exams instead of a #2.

jk but that's some shady shit thar
xtinkerbellax 30th-May-2013 11:42 pm (UTC)
What are they going to do with all of those extra kids next year?
yurasama_love 31st-May-2013 01:38 am (UTC)
Damn, how did the school not alert anyone? That's just ridiculous.
galagooo 1st-Jun-2013 12:27 am (UTC)
Are you sure he's not lying? I don't see how half a class could fail. Graduation standardized exams are usually pretty easy.
anderbobo 30th-May-2013 10:23 pm (UTC)
I'm sorry but I don't care what kind of tiff you are in, if your child is graduating or having some other milestone... YOU SHOW UP.
procedurals 30th-May-2013 10:24 pm (UTC)
what if scout asked her not to come?
anderbobo 30th-May-2013 10:28 pm (UTC)
IDK, at that age (Scout) you may not really understand/appreciate those sort of things, but by Demi's age you should know that these sorts of things deserve recognition and attendance, and I would still at least show up and then leave before the festivities.

Yeah, my mom didn't come to my wedding. I'm still pissed about it TBQH
the_landlady 30th-May-2013 11:38 pm (UTC)

My mom didn't make the three hour drive to my undergrad graduation because she doesn't like to be around my father (even though she cheated on him and still finds a way to hold a grudge). I'm graduating with my masters this December and she says she's going to come, but I'm like, "why bother?" She's going to make it all about her and I'm not here for that on my day. Ugh sorry for the rant, bb.
somefantastic 30th-May-2013 10:23 pm (UTC)
omg is she Tom Cruise's new gf??????
procedurals 30th-May-2013 10:24 pm (UTC)
i'm sure speculation by the tabloids will only help the situation! thanks radaronline.com!

but seriously, i hope demi and her daughters can reconcile.
manicpixiegirl 30th-May-2013 10:24 pm (UTC)
wasn't emma watson supposed to be graduating as well?
masterofmystery 30th-May-2013 10:34 pm (UTC)
nah she said she's still there
puro_desmadre 30th-May-2013 10:35 pm (UTC)
She took time off so she isn't done. I think she is going back next semester.
somefantastic 30th-May-2013 10:58 pm (UTC)
I thought she took time off from school?
mondler_4ever A Little OT30th-May-2013 10:25 pm (UTC)
I just graduated from college with a BA in Theatre (cue the laughs). But it's from a liberal arts school, so I feel ~well-rounded.

Congrats! :)
cranberryfitch Re: A Little OT31st-May-2013 12:48 am (UTC)
congrats!! also i think it's really brave that you pursued something you wanted instead of giving in to whatever would guarantee a job, which is actually nothing these days.
deevee45 30th-May-2013 10:26 pm (UTC)
Graduating from Brown is a tremendous accomplishment. Not having her mom there must be a pretty big blow.
puro_desmadre 30th-May-2013 10:36 pm (UTC)
Also the Brown graduation is magical, so fuck you Demi.
suburban_war 30th-May-2013 10:27 pm (UTC)
I don't know wtf I'm going to do after I graduate
piratesswoop 30th-May-2013 10:27 pm (UTC)
maybe she just didn't want to attract attention~ that's what everyone said in the angelina post
slinkhard 31st-May-2013 08:50 am (UTC)
LOL, it's hilarious how Angelina can do anything and have the stans suckered, and now everyone's all over Demi for the same thing.
piratesswoop 31st-May-2013 09:02 am (UTC)
i was laughing so hard at how the tides turned in that post. at first, people were saying "wow how could you miss a funeral for a movie premiere?" but the instant someone was like "maybe she doens't like funerals maybe she needed to watch the kids (lol bc they don't have nannies, right) maybe he didn't want to attract media attention!!!" it was a complete 180 praising her for being so thoughtful and kind to her family

girl bye
hoppi2112 30th-May-2013 10:29 pm (UTC)
scout is not her youngest child but okay
mondler_4ever 30th-May-2013 10:51 pm (UTC)
The article contradicted itself quickly by saying that Demi attended Tallulah's HS grad last year. I mean, how hard is it to fact check and edit?
bostongirl2003 31st-May-2013 03:01 am (UTC)
came in to ask how the math works on that

Scout might have not wanted her there? Awkward mom/step mom stuff?
masterofmystery 30th-May-2013 10:35 pm (UTC)
pretty sure scout's not her youngest kid. excellent researching, radar
