"Holly Has A Baby" On E! Tonight At 9
Ex-Playboy model Holly Madison is back on E! and delivers...to a room full of cameras
This isn’t your mother’s Mother’s Day, at least on TV.
Just ask former Playboy model and reality star Holly Madison, who gave birth in March — in a delivery room full of TV cameras.
“I had a lot of fears about going into the hospital, but having the camera crew there made me feel better,” Madison told me.
“I know it sounds weird, but it’s not.”
Madison spent almost seven years being followed around by cameras when she starred on “The Girls Next Door,” the popular E! series that documented her life as a queen bee at the Playboy Mansion.
At the time, she and two other Playboy models, Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt, were all living with and dating the magazine's founder, Hugh Hefner.
Now Madison is appearing in an E! special, “Holly Has a Baby,” Sunday at 9 p.m.
In March, Madison and her current boyfriend, club promoter Pasquale Rotella, became the parents of Rainbow Aurora Rotella.
“E! called about four days before I gave birth to see if I was interested,” she said. “And I figured it would be something cool for Rainbow to look back on — a really awesome home movie.”
But it’s not a home movie. It’s reality TV, with some of this family’s most personal moments on display for millions to watch.
“I still haven’t seen it,” Madison said. “But I trust E! — I worked for them for so many years, I know they’ll do a good job.”
In true new-mommy fashion, Madison added that she’s breast-feeding Rainbow, but she had a devil of a time getting enough milk into the baby at first.
“They tried to get me to use this weird syringe and a tube to supplement [the breast milk], but my clothes ended up getting covered in baby formula.”
Her struggles were, of course, all caught on film.
"My face feels like it's going to explode," Madison says as the nurse tells her to "push."
By Madison's side is her boyfriend and Rainbow's dad, Pasquale Rotella.
"When I was in labor and looking up at Pasquale I was just so excited," Madison says. "There was so much anticipation going on and I was so happy to be able to share the moment with him. I couldn't be happier."
More importantly, Rainbow recently met Goofy:
