Actors and Actresses that have played the hero and villain

As summer inches closer and we will start getting a slew of action movies. We see some returning heroes in yet another sequel and more money or the actors involved. This bunch is full of heroes/protagonist, everyman/woman, and villains/antagonists.
When an actor first starts out, they fear of being typecasted, by the first few major roles they play. If they are able to break the typecast, they garner respect from their peers But if they continue to play the morally good person despite the situation. The setting may be different, their character may have similar faults. Once they made their niche in the typecast role, it is very difficult to be taken seriously. When an actor/actress pulls an 180 from their niche, the industry and fans cannot handle the change.

One way to change your public perception is how you handle a scandal. Both Scarlett Johannson and Blake Lively, there's another connection here isn't there, both had nudes leaked, aka stolen for the few who do not get that .Scarlett was jokey and said that the pictures were of her. The public took it to mean she's ok with it and then people forgot about it. Blake on the other hand denied it, and rather than respect her privacy, people made comparisons jpegs and jokes with the name "Not Blake Lively" Even veteran actresses, who should know better, will mock you at an awards show..

Speaking of that same actress who was just recently arrested riding drunk while her husband drove drunk, her fans were shocked that she wasn't as SWEET as she claimed to be. The bare fact comes down to this, we as the audience, don’t know how these stars behave beyond the facade. How do we know this was not the first time this has happened? We have many blind items so people can play along and guess who slept with who, who did this and who does what drugs. The times when blinds items are proven to be true, and the people involved joke about it or come out with the truth with tv and print interviews, it makes us wonder how most of the Hollywood elite are able to live with these certain lies for so long. It makes them un-relatable to us as the pubic that we turn on them.
Relating to an actor or artist isn't a must to enjoy what they create, but it does help us see them for how they really are without a it looking like an obvious huge fantasy lie in front of our faces. When I see an actor or actress get out of their comfort zone and do a comedy, when all their movies have been dramas, it helps change my previous opinion of them and vice versa. When Jim Carey decided to do some dramas instead of full blown comedies there was an initial outcry. But we got to see what truly makes him an actor. His dramatic roles hold up as well as his comedic roles. It goes the same for when an actor who usually plays the hero/protagonist for so long, when they decide to do a role that will portray them as a bad guy shows us they aren't some kind of typecast/one trick pony. They can do it all. Despite all the roles they have done. That one role they do outside of the audience’s perception of who they are (A good person or bad person).

Here is a list of Actors and Actresses that are able to do both. In some instances they play both in the same movie.
