Former "Douche of the Decade" contender Eric Schaeffer now crowdfunding for queer romance.

Writer/director/actor Eric Schaeffer of relative I Can't Believe I'm Still Single fame (among other things) is on the crowdfunding wagon for his newest film, BOY MEETS GIRL: a (quoting, here) "funny, tender, sex positive romantic comedy that explores what it means to be a real man or woman and not letting fear stand in the way of your dreams."

Gawker used to hate him, ONTD kind of shrugged when his Starz show Gravity was axed (a loss sadly eclipsed by fan favorite Party Down); now the guy who's been lambasted for sucking dildos on Showtime is attempting to put the public's money where his mouth – was? is? Sorry, can't resist.

I don't know about you, but I'm a) pretty down for an upbeat, no-rape-murdering queer love story starring an unknown trans actress, b) quite a fan of his, circa 2011's After Fall, Winter (dark and tragic, but also explicit and fairly non-judgmental re: BDSM). For neophytes, here's Eric Schaeffer in the glory days of Fall, for which he took a lot of flak (not his only film about an everyman affairing with a supermodel), but which boasts the following impressive if physiologically unlikely orgasm:

[Justifying Twilight tag because Mike Newton (Michael Welch) has been cast as the film's male lead.]
