So apparently that bedazzled nipple costume was not the only one of its kind made for Beyoncé’s Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. Following confusion and criticism over her earlier sequin bodysuit, created by the Welsh designer Julien Macdonald, the Grammy winner debuted another, slightly more demure take on the anatomically correct look on April 18 in Croatia. Reportedly designed by Ralph & Russo, the new creation is bedazzle- and fringe-free, instead boasting, according to Us, “gold crystal and bullion thread embroidery and stylized gold nipples.” From afar, it looks like a long-sleeved lace leotard with suspiciously placed metallic mounds.
Beyoncé has not felt the need to verbally comment on or explain the anatomically correct costumes’ significance. (Perhaps something about female empowerment or Keeping Up with the Jones/Gagas in the tour-wardrobe department?) It may be, however, that these bizarrely suggestive leotards are just Beyoncé’s “harem pants” and we need to accept that.
Luke James To Open European Tour Leg For Beyonce
New Orleans singer Luke James got the call from Beyoncé and is crossing the pond to join her on her Mrs. Carter Show world tour.
The "I.O.U." singer will be joining Bey April 24 in Paris, France, through May 29 in Stockholm, Sweden, with the exception of Oslo, Norway.
“Luke James is a gifted singer and songwriter and what he does on stage with his pure falsetto is incredible,” said Beyoncé. “I am excited to have him join the tour and to introduce this soulful singer to an audience in Europe that will be discovering a true star.”
Luke opened for Beyoncé throughout her entire run at Revel in Atlantic City last summer and was in her video for “Run the World (Girls).”
“It is such an unimaginable honor to be sharing the light yet again with Beyoncé on her sold out Mrs. Carter Show World Tour,” said Luke. “This is a blessing that I do not take lightly. Thank you, Beyoncé.”
