Still dislike that they're deviating so much from the source material, but I have to admit that zombies on a plane is an absurdly nightmarish scenario.
Yesss that's what I really wanted. I loved this book so much, I was just picturing a mockumentary when they said they were making the movie. Disappointing :(
crying b/c this movie could have been amazing if they'd actually gone with the source material
i wanted to see the college campuses around socal serving as forts and the japanese guy surviving using an old samurai sword and and... this could have made for such a rad HBO limited series, a la band of brothers and the pacific.
I wanted to see the Israeli section, and the part about the submarine community. And a few others I am sure. I was more interested in what happened in other parts of the world. I dislike this being American centric, although I am not surprised.
yeah, i'm bummed that this is going to be american centric, too. i liked all of the little stories though. i know some people find that certain parts dragged, but i thought they were all really interesting.
You've pinpointed exactly why I liked the book. A lot of other zombie fiction sticks to events in America despite suggesting that zombies were a global event, but the WWZ gave us some pretty cool stories about how it affected people in other countries.
And the movie just looks like Generic Apocalypse Story Starring Generic Handsome Man :/ It looks like it should be shown on SyFy at 3pm on a Sunday tbh.
yeah i got about a third of the way through and lost interest. if you like zombie fiction though, i recommend day by day armageddon by JL Bourne - i couldn't put it down!
It's slow at first, but if you take each story as an individual one you can skip around. I recommend if you do like zombie fiction is the NewsFlesh Series by Mira Gant and Zombie, Ohio by Scott Kenemore. Both very very good.
I thought the trailer was an improvement over the first one. I'm excited for this. of course I am not bitterly blind with rage over the lack of book adaption as I have never read the thing. Brad pitt still could get it hard.
i watched it on netflix it was actually amazing omfg
i know enough has already been said about the splooshy zombie waves
but ugh
