After watching the episode yesterday, how the fuck is Snow's heart getting dark just because she killed Cora? This is a woman who killed her mother, whose daughter killed her father, and both women are actively trying to kill her and her whole family. And at the end she still rushed to save her. Also, WHAT THE FUCK REGINA. SERIOUSLY!? SERIOUSLY?! Fucking done with this show, I will not watch any episode unless it has Mulan and Aurora.
She's probably killed people before. She was in a fucking war to retake her kingdom. And it wasn't killing for the sake of it, it was to end a person who was constantly terrorizing her family.
I cannot lie to myself, I will most likely watch this till the end of it, but a return of Aurora and Mulan will definitely get me positive about the show again. Looking back on this season, they were definitely a highlight. I can't believe how unimpressed with them I was at first. Silly me! Thankfully, I have seen the light.
i actually hate that plot line too. her weeping and sobbing and guilty for killing someone evil and saving her family. unlike snow in FTL who was the complete opposite. she should be the same NOW. but i know it's because she used ~dark magic~ apparently that's why.
"The problem is that that’s NOT why Snow did it. Snow did it out of revenge. Not to save someone. Not to protect. But out of revenge. So while the said person might have “deserved it”, the intent is what matters. And Snow intent was not about saving Rumple(she actually implied she does not care whether they both get killed, in fact she thought that would be better outcome), not about punishing Cora for her deeds, not about protecting someone from Cora. Her intent was simply that killing Cora because she wanted to.
The problem also is on HOW Snow did it. Snow chose one of the most darkest way to achieve her goal, pretty much almost surpassing Rumplestiltskin himself in manipulativeness and coldness. She twisted someone’s good emotions - love, care, loneliness into a weapon for herself without a second thought through the whole con, clearly knowing what is going to happen.
And now Snow is realizing what she did and is horrified enough to be suicidal. She has seen this with Regina, she has known this happened with Rumple and she wants to die because of what she is becoming - it basically has destroyed her identity, everything she believed she was.
And at the same time she is suicidal NOT because of what she did to someone, but because of what it does to herself. Snow wanted to die not because she hurt someone, but because her actions are hurting herself, psychologically and slow realization of that is doing nothing but deepening the trauma.
And all of this self-loathing, remorse and depression does not always lead to redemption. It makes a person unpredictable, more prone to giving in to the worst parts of themselves, making them shut off from people they care about, making them hurt the people they care about.
And as it goes on, Snow will either get consumed by her loathing and darkness(like Regina, her antithesis and parallel, was) or will accept it and start to justify it(like Rumplestiltskin, yet another one of parallel characters to her, did). In either way, it leads to more darkness and despair.
That is why its dark. And that is why she has been suicidal - through her actions, she is becoming into someone she never thought she had in her." (invested-in-your-future)
I kind of agree with all of that. But I don't think Snow set out to manipulate Regina into killing her own mother, so it's not so "clearly", but she did use those emotions of Regina to get her out of a rough situation.
When Regina showed up.. what was Snow going to do? Tell her the truth? Reason with her? She's unreasonable, and the truth would've probably had Snow killed. She was defenseless, and alone - perfect opportunity for Regina.
Explain to me how that little kid playing Owen is YOUNGER than Henry and infinitely a better actor! UGH HE'S SUCH A BAD CHARACTER WITH AN EVEN WORSE ACTOR. When Regina burned that spell for him and he rushed over to Emma and embraced her, I was like "WHAT. THE. FUCK. HENRY?!?!!?"
Henry is so horrible. He's all, "Snow White can't do bad things! She can't kill people!" SHE WAS IN A FUCKING WAR, DO YOU THINK SHE THREW FLOWERS AT HER ENEMIES
i realize all the terrible things regina has done and blah blah but its so irritating when emma's all "HE'S MY SON! NOT YOURS!" Like, you didn't raise him for ten years.
And i excuse henry's behavior cause he's a child and all children are selfish and un-self aware little morons. But I don't excuse everyone else's behavior, they all enforce this bullshit
It really is. I'm rewatching season one and though it can be cheesy, it at least felt like a cohesive season? This season is just all over the place WHERE ARE YOU GOING, SEASON, WHERE
Right? We've gotten 17 episodes in now and it's like 'what's the point?' Inconsistent characterization is pretty much par for the course so that every character just does what the plot requires of them that episode without making sense as part of a whole.
They should go for broke and kill off the entire Charming clan, Rumple, and Belle. Higher some new writers, get a bigger budget, and put the show on Cable.
I really hate to say this, but looking back on this season, it really has been lackluster. I can go back to season 1, pick out an episode and just enjoy the shit out of it. This season, the things I actually like are so strung out and mixed between weak storylines and poor character development. I hope that, at the end of this season, the writers can look back and see what worked and what didn't and learn from it. Like, this show has so much potential, like, potential that I don't think even the fandom has explored, which just makes me sad. I want to love you unconditionally, OUAT, but you just make it so damn hard <:/
Season 1 had way more focus and it's a shame season 2 just went... wherever it has been going. In Season 1 you have the central plot of getting Emma to believe the curse in Storybrooke, in fairytale land you had the exposition which usually related to a secondary Storybrooke plot that revealed more about the character's pasts, personalities, relationships, etc. When there was filler, it was a way to flesh out the characters more. There was actual character development.
Season 2 has no central plot. It's just sort of... happening. What are we supposed to focus on? The stranger? Rumpelstiltskin and Bae? Getting rid of magic in Storybrooke? Hook's revenge? Regina trying to get Henry? There's a lot of filler that just adds to the confusion. I think the earlier episodes of season 2 were the best because, at that point in time, the episodes had direction. Find a way to get home for fairytale land, find a way to get them home for Storybrooke. And there was a better sense of character development too--we were dealing with Emma and her newfound parents and the pain and confusion that caused as well as Regina realizing that she needed to change for Henry.
And now it just feels like there is no development at all. Regina's trying to be better. Oh no she isn't. Oh yes she is. And Rumpel is trying to better oh wait no he's still evil oh wait no he's not. And now this business with Snow White and "she killed someone because apparently during her brutal fight to win back the kingdom she never killed! she's ~dark~ now!" and just I DON'T EVEN KNOW, SEASON 2. I don't even know.
oh this got tl;dr but like you, I feel like this show has great potential and I'm sad it's being wasted
i think it was a mistake to break the curse so early. that's why it had focus. you knew that you just wanted emma to break it and make everyone remember. well, that already happened, and now they're scrambling for a plot that packs the same punch. i think season 1 had like...2 filler episodes? this season has a ton.
LAST EPISODE NEEDED A LOT MORE GRAHAM. EVEN HIM JUST EATING PASTRIES AND DRINKING COFFEE IN THE STATION FOR 10 MINUTES WOULD'VE BEEN FINE WITH ME. AMEN.
(i just realized i typed that all in caps but i'm too lazy to fix it so there ya go)
tying up his storyline i'll be happy about, although part of me thinks that he'll be turned into a little boy again for gepetto. thank you.:) now see, jefferson i would be excited about seeing again. love your icon too. kinda sad we have to wait 4 weeks until we get to see lacy.
i cannot

Because I would like her back

Yes, Henry should hug Regina for giving up on her plan to force him to 'love' her.
