Julianne Hough's Jewelry: 'Safe Haven' Actress Sees $100,000 Worth Stolen From Car

Julianne Hough is in the doghouse following a jewelry heist that happened right in her own backseat.

The country singer and two-time "Dancing With the Stars" champion reportedly had $100,000 worth of jewelry that had been given to her by boyfriend Ryan Seacrest stolen out of her car. The incident occurred in Hollywood last Friday night while Hough was visiting a friend, according to TMZ.

She left three pieces of jewelry in the car after parking her Mercedes in a lot. While it's unclear whether Hough left the doors unlocked, as law enforcement officials reported no signs of forced entry, the "Safe Haven" actress returned to her car a few hours later to find the doors wide open and the gems missing.

TMZ has no further details on what the jewelry items were, but thank goodness she has a sweet, sympathetic boyfriend like Seacrest to understand what happened during this trying episode.

Oh PUHLeeze. I'm sure she's not in any doghouse. Seacrest was probably like "oh, so only the cheap shit got stolen? Fuck that costume jewelry, let's go get some real gems." I mean, isn't $100,000 what he makes for like 5 minutes of hosting AI?
classiqfemme 14th-Mar-2013 04:48 pm (UTC)
Insurance scam or publicity stunt?
myblackass 14th-Mar-2013 08:39 pm (UTC)
Why not both?
bostongirl2003 14th-Mar-2013 09:20 pm (UTC)
if there's no sign of forced entry, I don't think she'd get anything from insurance.
spoiled_water 14th-Mar-2013 04:49 pm (UTC)
I leave $100,000 worth of shit laying around in my car all the time. I feel your pain, girl.
spartacus 14th-Mar-2013 04:53 pm (UTC)
lol srsly at calling it a "trying time" like someone died. it's a shit ton of money, but it's like, get some perspective.
spartacus 14th-Mar-2013 04:50 pm (UTC)
That sucks.
djc114 14th-Mar-2013 04:50 pm (UTC)
WHY would you leave that in a car?

There was a woman here who left her purse in her car while she ate at a restaurant for 2 hours. The purse was stolen and she's suing the restaurant!
calinewarkwc69 14th-Mar-2013 04:54 pm (UTC)
I left my purse in the car once because I was bringing in groceries and thought I had grabbed it with the bags- well, I didn't, and when I woke up the next morning, my car (and my purse inside it) had been stolen. They found my car a couple days later, though. Actually, I had that same car stolen again about a year later and again they found it after a couple days.
djc114 14th-Mar-2013 04:58 pm (UTC)
You had some crappy car luck :(

But this chica said she left it in the car on purpose! I don't get it!
calinewarkwc69 14th-Mar-2013 05:06 pm (UTC)
I'm still trying to figure out how they got into her car. I worked for a repo company for 7 years, so I pretty much know how to break into any car with a slim jim or wedge and hook and Mercedes are hard. Especially if it's new, it probably automatically locks when you walk away from it and getting into those mofo's- you would either set the alarm off, or trigger the cars theft system that locks it down completely once a signal of forced entry is sent to the computer, so.... unless she left her car unlocked WITH the key in it, this all sounds mighty suspicious.
maeir 14th-Mar-2013 04:58 pm (UTC)
wait. what? how does that even work?!
tracygee 14th-Mar-2013 04:51 pm (UTC)
I'm trying to imagine a scenario in which I would leave 100,000 worth of jewelry in my car while visiting a friend.

I can't come up with one, really. Toss it in your purse, girl.

Maybe she forgot she had it with her? I don't know.

Seriously?! Why would you leave those kind of valuables in your car? Isn't jewelry meant to be worn?
cheeseasauras 14th-Mar-2013 06:38 pm (UTC)
I can't even fathom it. Shove that shit in the glove box or under the seat.

then again I'm usually doing that with like a shitty point and shoot camera or my gameboy or something.

Wonderful article written by Ryan Seacrest's publicist.

We get it, hunny, u ~straight

lmao this guy is so gay, every night on Idol he has his head stuffed so far up Mariah Carey's ass

i think i'd rather see julianne back on dwts than continuing on this path as a flop movie actress.

i mean, i didn't like her on dwts either, but at least she was/is an excellent dancer!
honeebs 14th-Mar-2013 04:53 pm (UTC)
Publicity for that shit movie.
This is all her team could think of for getting her press, they need to be fired.

maeir 14th-Mar-2013 04:57 pm (UTC)
Why the fuck would you leave $100K worth of jewelry lying around your car? That's just dumb.
itscomicrelief 14th-Mar-2013 04:59 pm (UTC)
I should be more sympathetic since I have had $300 stolen out of my car recently (hidden in a small, non-descript container, in a small compartment), but it wasn't 100k in jewels.
chandyland11 14th-Mar-2013 04:59 pm (UTC)
Sucks to be her, but what the fuck kind of moron leaves $100,000 worth of jewelry in the backseat of a damn Mercedes left in a parking lot in Hollywood? I'm not sympathetic tbh.
theactualworst 14th-Mar-2013 05:14 pm (UTC)
Lol what a dumbass.
yolleh 14th-Mar-2013 05:16 pm (UTC)
I'm hoping it was left in the glove compartment or boot or something otherwise...well either way it's just not a good move to leave valuables in the car.
My mum always nags at me to hide my stuff in the car under the seat or in the boot if I'm not gonna bother taking it. It's still a bit of a risk to do so though.
noneformethanx 14th-Mar-2013 05:23 pm (UTC)
My area is so ghetto that if I left $1.25 in change in the car I'd get broken into and stolen. Fuck you tweakers!
saintvlas22 15th-Mar-2013 11:40 am (UTC)
I always had it drilled into me you never leave so much as a jacket inside the car. Some freezing homeless person could bust open the window to grab it. Not that all homeless people would, but if it's the middle of winter, they're got bigger things to worry about than some dipshit's car window.
thelovehater 14th-Mar-2013 05:24 pm (UTC)
This should just turn into a post about pretty jewelry.
puro_desmadre 14th-Mar-2013 05:36 pm (UTC)

superhetoric 14th-Mar-2013 05:50 pm (UTC)
in college i lived with this spoiled brat bitch whose would leave her ipod sitting on her car dashboard. her car got broken into like four times and her parents replaced the ipod for her each time. they also paid for her car repairs. she finally started taking it into the house with her when she got out of the car but it's like how fucking lazy and spoiled do you have to be to not learn your lesson the first time when something like that happens.
sastra_fuss 14th-Mar-2013 05:52 pm (UTC)
Why are y'all blaming the victim? It's the criminal in the wrong for stealing her shit not her for leaving it in the car.
endingonfire 14th-Mar-2013 05:56 pm (UTC)
I was thinking the same thing...
so_chic_doll 14th-Mar-2013 05:58 pm (UTC)
obviously, it's wrong it was stolen from her

but you've got to use a bit of common sense in this world sometimes.
numbedtoe 14th-Mar-2013 05:55 pm (UTC)
there is a huge difference between leaving a hundred grand worth of shit in your car, a few hundred dollars worth like most of us do from time to time.

echoing the dumbass comments.
so_chic_doll 14th-Mar-2013 05:56 pm (UTC)
why would u leave something that expensive in a car 0_o
die2nitelive4ev 14th-Mar-2013 05:59 pm (UTC)
I always keep my diamonds in the car, don't you dahhling?

ilovestitch 14th-Mar-2013 06:26 pm (UTC)
I wonder if she lost it, felt bad and couldn't explain it to Ryan, and then came up with this story.
pink_martini2 14th-Mar-2013 07:14 pm (UTC)
boggled that she'd have it in the car in the first place. especially if she's driving a nice car, the car itself would be bad-guy-bait.
geminibear 14th-Mar-2013 08:18 pm (UTC)
one time I went out to eat with my friend after class and was carrying my really heavy books +laptop with me. when we got out of the car in the parking lot and were walking away I noticed my friend left the window of one of the doors partially open! I told her someone could break in and she said the crack was too small...well I stuck my arm in and it fit (not enough to open the locks but hey if someone skinnier were to try..) anyway I asked her to open the doors because I wanted to take my laptop with me but by then she was too far away and hungry and didn't want to go back to open the doors (she had an old ass car that only opened with a key). she told me to stop worrying. I went with her but a fear of losing my laptop was all i could think about and I was uneasy the entire time with her. luckily I texted my awesome bf how worried i was and he drove over and found our friend's car, and watched it until we got back...I mean who does that? love him. but yeah..ugh..never even going to think of leaving things in a car now. I seriously had the hardest time breathing during that entire time
saintvlas22 15th-Mar-2013 11:43 am (UTC)
She couldn't give you the keys to let you do it, or walk the few feet to do it herself? I mean, girl isn't going to die of hunger in 1.5 minutes, so WTF.
geminibear 16th-Mar-2013 07:46 am (UTC)
I actually added this in my original comment, but deleted it because it looked like i was rambling. I was going to say that my friend is very...unique. She isn't stupid...in fact, she's a genius (4.0, got into all the colleges she applied to,etc) but she's not always "there" if you know what I mean. And she's extremely careless about things: she's gotten stranded in the middle of nowhere, she's lost her keys, locked herself out of the car, practically been in every sort of predicament you can imagine. So her not caring about my situation didn't really have anything to do with her being a bad friend, it's just her personality not to care and worry about any single thing. lol
megome 14th-Mar-2013 11:01 pm (UTC)
ugh, this hits too close to home... had my wallet stolen last night. i thought i'd just misplaced it in my house until i checked my bank account at school today and noticed two new charges to my account. that shit got cancelled pretty fast. but now i have no picture ID for a few more weeks, not to mention that wallet was new :-(

more than anything i just feel stupid. and vulnerable. and stupid.
prophecypro 15th-Mar-2013 09:17 am (UTC)
who just keeps that in the whip?
