Holly Madison Names Daughter Rainbow

holly-madison-0-300
Now she's the mom next door.

Holly Madison, who gave birth to a daughter on Tuesday, has chosen a name for her baby girl: Rainbow Aurora Rotella.

"I wanted to give my daughter a unique name," she explains to E! News, who first reported the news.

"Growing up, there was a girl in my school named Rainbow and I was so envious of that name. I thought it was so pretty and unique!"

The former Playboy Bunny seems to be seriously smitten with motherhood.

"I've been spending the last day or so learning how to be a mom – it's the best project in the world," the former Girls Next Door star wrote on her blog Friday, underneath a makeup-free photo of her and boyfriend Pasquale Rotella leaving the hospital. "I never thought I would be so happy – especially on so little sleep!"

Cuddled up with a stuffed animal and a pink-themed ensemble, the reality star acknowledged her fans for their support in becoming a first-time parent.

"I just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful messages you guys have been posting!" she wrote. "I appreciate them all!"

...this is just laughable. Though I'd rather see a Rainbow than another Khael'eigh or something equally atrocious. She seems excited to be a mom though, so good for her.

bb name post? Matilda is my top girls' name and Pierce is my top boys' name.

fwee_prower 8th-Mar-2013 09:39 pm (UTC)
why is it laughable.
celtic_thistle 8th-Mar-2013 09:42 pm (UTC)
bc it's silly but unoffensive.
jbants 8th-Mar-2013 09:43 pm (UTC)
My 2 1/2 yr old daughters name is Olivia, my 7 mo old sons name is Luca. :)
lovewreckxx 8th-Mar-2013 09:51 pm (UTC)
I have a Braden, Jacob, and a Wyatt. I like to think they have pretty normal names, lol.
ellie_andrews 8th-Mar-2013 09:51 pm (UTC)
I saw on FB that a former co-worker named her daughter Brailee. Every time I think about it I get irrationally angry.
d00ditsemily 8th-Mar-2013 09:52 pm (UTC)
My bb's name is Caroline. Thankfully we had a girl because all our boys names were iffy (we were going for Isaac.)
iruleuruniverse 8th-Mar-2013 09:55 pm (UTC)
Kai for a boy.
Not a clue for a girl. NOT A DAMN CLUE.
burn_a_miracle 8th-Mar-2013 09:57 pm (UTC)
If I have another kid, they will be Carolyn or Adam. And I think i told you this before, but my daughter's name is Isabelle, Izzy for short.
johnjie 8th-Mar-2013 10:13 pm (UTC)
Matilda is a gorgeous name bb!

My top boys name is Matthew, and has been since I was ten. My partners are just going to have to deal with it, as the only way I'd reconsider is if the surname was going to be 'Matthews'. Runners up include Arthur, Theodore, and Jeremy.

As for girls, I love a lot - Joan, Lyra, Amelia, Judith, Lavinia, Beatrice, Irene...it's much harder for me to pick just one girls name.
tobreakfree 8th-Mar-2013 10:14 pm (UTC)
my daughters name is Serenity Sky. :)
tebtosca 8th-Mar-2013 10:15 pm (UTC)
My sister just had a daughter named Lily, which I think is super pretty.

My fave name is Isabella, but Twilight had to go ruin that for me
anastrophe 8th-Mar-2013 10:18 pm (UTC)
My kids are William, Spencer and Victoria. We're done, but I still love the names Charlotte and Benjamin.
sicksiqsick 8th-Mar-2013 10:23 pm (UTC)
I like Elizabeth "Lizzy/Lizzie" and Audrey (my late grandmother's name) for girls, but I have no idea for boys. And I'm pretty sure I don't even want kids so whatever.
godramaclub 8th-Mar-2013 10:24 pm (UTC)
My fiancé and I would like Oliver if we have a boy. Girls' names we don't agree on very much. He liked Faith, and I'd really like Aria. He says nobody would know how to pronounce Aria. Lies, tbh. We agree on Sabrina I guess?
luvthatdrtywata 8th-Mar-2013 10:39 pm (UTC)
I like Finn for a boy and Fiona for a girl. My nana's stage name was June Evans so I thought maybe Fiona June and Finn Evans.
the_pinkdress 8th-Mar-2013 10:49 pm (UTC)
For girls I like Emma and Isabel. I love the name "Isla" (pronounced Eye-la of course), but if she would have siblings, 'Isla' sounds too similar to other names I like so idk. Plus I wouldn't want to give a kid a name that is always mispronounced.

For boys I like the name Owen... and not much else to be honest.
lefteyepni 8th-Mar-2013 10:51 pm (UTC)
my 11 yr old is jaylin eliza (half of my hubby's name half of my name; eliza came from elizabeth, which my mom said i was supposed to be named after); my soon to be 3 mo old is jenson enzo ^_^ (jenson for the formula 1 race car driver jenson button [we had a toss up between that spelling or how jensen ackles spells his; and enzo for the founder of ferrari and not the car -- enzo ferrari). his name primarily had to do with him loving the sound of the formula 1 race whenever the hubs watched...

Sebastian Caleb for a boy and Vanessa for a girl.

My almost-3 year old is called Ivy which suits her so perfectly.

If I ever have a boy he will definitely be Reuben. I love Frances for a girl too.
itspokerface 8th-Mar-2013 10:59 pm (UTC)
Matilda is GORGEOUS. It's on my top names.
I love Anastasia, Madeline, Helena, Aurora, Matilda, Alexandria, Milena
justpeachythnks 8th-Mar-2013 11:01 pm (UTC)
Ohh and i LOVVEE Etienne for a girl even though it is actually the french version of Stephen.
rachaelamaria 8th-Mar-2013 11:09 pm (UTC)
My 18 month old is Charlotte, but we call her Lottie.

If our next baby is a boy, we'll go with Sam. I'm lost on girl's names. The only one we can agree on is Amelia and I just don't know.
ohkimosabe 8th-Mar-2013 11:11 pm (UTC)
McKenize, Seraphina, Jacqueline, Zachary, and Matheiu are names that I like for now lol.
sowhat_whocares 8th-Mar-2013 11:22 pm (UTC)
I've always liked Sawyer for a girl, but I love Johanna (after a Bob Dylan song), Susan and Phillipa for a girl as well. I like Evangeline too.

for boys I like Tristan, Dominic, Edmund, or Shea.

some of these are really old fashioned though, so IDK. my need to not have my kids laughed at or get their asses kicked in school outweighs me liking a name.
oneworldvision 8th-Mar-2013 11:25 pm (UTC)
idk if I even want kids, but I love thinking about names. For girls I like Rosalie (which was apparently in Twilight fml), Natasha, Alexandra, Evelyn, and Holly, to name a few. Most of the boys names I like are more common for girls now, but I still like them better on boys/men: Cary, Lindsey, Leslie, Alexis, etc.
cpb1220 8th-Mar-2013 11:31 pm (UTC)
I love Natalie and Olivia for girls. Boys, my favorite is Michael, but that's my FIl's name and my husband nixed that :( I also like Matthew, but my husband doesn't. So, we are having girls.
juicybrisket 8th-Mar-2013 11:57 pm (UTC)
for a boy im dead set on daniel james ronan

and for a girl i like johanna, rhiannon, mallory, joan, and her middle name would be eleanor (for my grammie)
treradical 9th-Mar-2013 12:02 am (UTC)
alice or madison for a girl, and idk for guys maybe james.
mcdork 9th-Mar-2013 12:04 am (UTC)
My firstborn was Noah Christopher.

My almost 3 year old is Gabriel James.

Noah was almost Logan, it was a favourite of mine before it became trendy, told my cousin. Her 3 and a half year old is called Logan. If he was a girl, Evelyn. My other cousins now 18 month old is Evelyn.

NEVER SHARE YOUR NAMES WITH FAMILY. OMG.

My husband wanted to name Gabriel, Leo James, but Leo just didn't suit him.

Any future babies; Sebastian, Elijah or Reuben for a boy. Charlotte (Lottie) for a girl.

I change daily, but I go from hippie names like Meadow to classics like Eleanor and Marjorie.

Boys, I just like the name Ty. Just Ty. Not Tyler. I also love Phillip, but hate Phil.

Newsflash everyone: please google the name you are considering before actually using it. I'm in medicine. If I hear one more little girl plagued with the name "Melena" I am going to cry.

Melena = black, tarry feces associated with gastrointestinal hemorrhage

I'm sure people roll their eyes a lot but people know my name and THAT is what matters. There are a thousand Laurens, Michelles, and Claires who blend into the crowd.
