Keri Russell has been cast in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which will reunite her with Felicity co-creator Matt Reeves.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Russell, who stars on FX's freshman spy drama The Americans, will take the lead female role in Fox’s sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which Reeves will direct. Already on board to star are Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
Qhile much of the plot has been kept under wraps, the film is set 15 years after the events of the hit 2011 film. It follows Caesar (Serkis), the intelligent ape who is trying to maintain dominance over his kingdom, and the scientists struggling to survive in San Francisco.
Peter Chernin, Dylan Clarke, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa are producing the movie, which is working off a script by Mark Bomback. It's set for release May 23, 2014.

But I'm still not loving the Planet of the Apes remakes.
anyone else seeing the similarity
lol
<3
I may or may not have cried because of the actions of a certain gorilla....
But now that I know JF has nothing to do with this movie, I may just see it. (The sequel, I mean)
Also excited for The Americans tonight!
classic
which is worse?? :/
THAT BEING SAID. I watch every Apes film, so I'll be seeing it.
I was really against the 2001 Planet of the Apes movie (I was a 13 year old with some rage) and refused to see it ever... until after I saw Rise. I regret that decision. As someone who even likes Mark Wahlberg, I regret that decision so much. That movie sucked.
I have faith that this new one will be at least somewhat entertaining. Whether it's good or not... I'm not holding my breath, haha.
