Nationwide Series driver Jeremy Clements spoke exclusively to ESPN Thursday about his "indefinite suspension" from NASCAR, and to explain the racial slur incident that led to his suspension.
Clement's went on to explain: "When you say 'racial' remark, it wasn't used to describe anybody or anything," Clements said. "So that's all I'm going to say to that. And it really wasn't. I was describing racing, and the word I used was incorrect and I shouldn't have said it."
Clements explained that he was approached by a reporter from MTV. The reporter from MTV started asking Clements questions. MTV news confirms Marty Beckerman was the reporter with Clements at the time of the conversation Saturday after a drivers' meeting at Daytona International Speedway.
Beckerman told MTV news that Clements used 'a phrase that used the n-word' in a conversation about driving and not in reference to another driver. After Beckerman explained what he was doing for MTV’s ‘Guy Code’ blog and asked what words race drivers would use as guy code, he said Clemmens used the N-word.
While Clements said he understands being in trouble for the incident, he didn't expect to be suspended for the word, maybe fined at the most.
"But I'm going to do what they want me to do so I can get back in the car as soon as possible. I think it's a little harsh, but it's their rules. It's their game."

lemme see :D
So what context was it used in? "That car is n word black" "She's failing math, she's such a n word"... I don't get this excuse lol
And just... thinking that whatever the fuck he said was okay since it supposedly wasn't directed towards a person... SMH. Not shocked considering the source, but it's sad that he's upholding such a trite stereotype.
But it's people like him - who act shocked that he was suspended b/c in his mind it's no big deal - who uphold the status quo that fucking burn me up even more.
Typical whitey who doesn't understand THAT USING THAT WORD IS NOT OKAY. its not up to you to determine what is harsh or not, you maligned and offended a whole group of people.
"but it's in the song"
"but it's a post racial society"
"but if black people use the word, why can't we"
"freedom of speech"
"there's a difference between nigger and nigga"
"but how will I categorize the song if I can't use nigga?"
the argument is neverending
