In 2009, Bradley Cooper went from utility handsome guy into movie star with his turn in Todd Phillips‘ ‘The Hangover,’ and in 2012 Cooper became an Oscar nominee for his work in ‘Silver Linings Playbook.’ It looks like before 2015 Cooper plans to add another feather to his cap as he’s looking to direct his first feature film.
As Deadline is reporting, Cooper is looking to remake the German comedy ‘Kokowaah’ for American audiences. The story is about an author who comes to find out he had a daughter as a product of a one night stand, but when he comes to spend time with his daughter he finds out that she prefers her adopted father over her real one. The film was written, directed and starred Til Schweiger, who you might remember as Hugo Stiglitz from Quentin Tarantino‘s ‘Inglourious Basterds.’ And good news for Cooper, if it works, Schweiger has already made a sequel, so it’s a possible franchise.
This though is only one of a couple of projects that Cooper is developing at Warner Brothers, and if he doesn’t direct this one, he is very likely to helm another. Cooper is still keeping busy as an actor, and has ‘The Place Beyond the Pines‘ due out this March and ‘The Hangover Part 3‘ for this summer.
