Now that he's out of closet, Anderson Cooper is wondering why others choose to stay in!

CNN newsman and daytime talk show host Anderson Cooper waited until last summer to publicly confirm that he is gay after years of remaining mum on the topic.

And now that he's done it, to no detriment to his career, he wonders why other famous folks who he knows don't do the same.

'There’s a bunch of people whom I’m surprised have not been more forward, and, you know, given their position and the extent to which they’re forward about other aspects about their lives,' Cooper said while guesting on pal Andy Cohen's Bravo talk show Watch What Happens Live.

Cooper was criticized by many when he did not discuss his sexuality in his 2006 book Dispatches from the Edge: A Memoir of War, Disasters, and Survival.

'I mean look, it’s a personal decision that everyone has to make for their own reasons,' he told Cohen. 'Obviously, I think we’re all better off with greater visibility, so I would encourage people to do what they’re comfortable with.'

His opinion has not changed that people need to come out only when they are ready.

'Look, I’m pretty understanding of where people are at, and people are at different places in their lives,' he said.

As if it's the same as saying, "I don't eat apple pie". How are you still alive if you don't eat vegetables.

People who don't like vegetables/fruits are weird and really irritate me. Like...who the hell raised you!? No wonder why obesity is so rampant in the US. I love being healthy, fit, and living well...99% of this is attributed to the foods I eat. Sure, living in the Bay Area helps having so much fresh produce all around, but I always lol when people say healthy food is too expensive. Um...try harder maybe? Healthy food doesn't have to = Whole Foods. It takes some time and effort, and I'm actually a student, so I make it work the best I can.

There was a girl I went to school with that with every meal she would literally pick out every vegetable and put it to the side. She never gets those nutrients. Of course, she only loves potatoes. It bothered me to be around her because she was just so cavalier about her health. You are what you eat. And it showed on her. And it's no wonder she's unhappy with herself but she prefers to stick to eating to her junk food. Weird how some people can be so complacent and yet our tax dollars have to go pay for them when they have health issues.

The cost argument bothers me too. Yes, it is more expensive to buy all organic produce especially if it is out of season, but there's a huge gap between all organic and all processed fat packed with HFCS/sodium. There's a healthy medium out there that is a lot less expensive than all organic and is a ton better for you than processed crap.

Glad someone agrees with me here!

There's also the misperception that eating vegetables and being healthy = organic only. I don't always buy organic, because it is pricier. But I have a special soap that is meant to wash off much of the pesticides that come on veggies/fruits. Either way, eating vegetables can be done in various ways that I find strange that people are so oblivious too. Frozen veggies/fruits actually still retain a ton of their nutrients because they are often picked when they are most ripe. Canned veggies (depending on whether they're being soaked on syrups or salty water) can also be good too.

mte I eat healthy for super cheap and buy a lot of frozen veggies. People with unhealthy habits who want to stay unhealthy just act like there's no middle ground to be healthier (ie either all fast food or all organic, sedentary all the time or working out for 3 hours a day etc). It's sad and annoying lol

I don't eat fruit/vegetables and it has absolutely nothing to do with my parents (who were wonderful and gave me plenty of options when I was growing up). I refused to eat them when I was little and I still avoid them now. Sorry that's apparently irritating to you.
