Flip through your Facebook or Twitter feed over the past 24 hours, and you’re likely inundated with Jennifer Lawrence love. The current ‘It’ girl is certainly having a moment this awards season, on top of an already incredible 2012. When she won her Best Actress Oscar Sunday night, if felt — like many Oscar fans predicted – that the Academy was crowning the next big movie star. But the interesting thing about JLaw is that she presents herself to be so different from the Hollywood golden girl of a decade or so ago. Julia Roberts in the ‘90s and Reese Witherspoon in the early ’00s certainly had their fans, but Lawrence’s charm is helping propel her to a new kind of celebrity. She’s rewriting the rules for how we view our superstars, perfectly adjusting to 2013’s demands.
She combines Everywoman likability (the big Oscar stumble!) with Hollywood glamour (the big recovery!), and, of course, Oscar-approved raw talent. All together, she’s gearing up to be a once-in-a-generation star, and she’s doing it by rewriting the starlet rulebook. Her goofy personality is transcending the typical stories that get written about young ingénues. Don’t believe me? Check out a becoming-a-superstar checklist that acts as a complete rundown for how Jennifer Lawrence has become the perfect 2013 celebrity.

A star is born: Why we love Jennifer Lawrence (Or why she's the perfect 2013 superstar)

She's just like me.
Look at this dorky white girl? Isn't she pretty? Isn't she talented? Just look at her! She farts white lillies! LOOK AT HERRRRRR!!!
It reminds me of that Family Guy skit where someone's showing pictures of their kids and smacks the person with the open wallet.
The Thirst Is REAL
Thank GOD for Tumblr Savior. But even if I wasn't on ONTD or Tumblr, or the internet at all, her mug is still all over the television.
She's said some ignorant things, yes. She's not the brightest crayon in the box. But as long as she checks that NOW, it might be ok.
This is her year, and THG comes out later. So there will be twice the overexposure. I don't think the overexposure is her fault but yes, a backlash is inevitable. Enjoy them flashing lights now, girlfriend!

She's not evil or truly cruel, but not being fond of someone because they've said a lot of hurtful, offensive stuff isn't being unreasonable.
but i see a lot of people hate on Jennifer (And lots of others)s for being to "try hard" or saying her personality is fake or whatever, just a bunch of other stuff that's generally reaching
if people don't like her because of her unfortunate comments in the past, then by all means, that's understandable.
Her career is literally the pinnicle of how every young actresses strive to be. She got her damn Best Actress Oscar in her early 20s, she's the lead in a huge franchise and in a comic book franchise with more acclaimed works alongside having heavy hitters backing her.
The "IT" girl value has ups and downs yes but like I said, it's depending on her image and if the general audience continues to give positive feedbacks. Her choice in projects would also come into play too but time will tell.
