Kristen Stewart wears one ballet flat and heel to the Oscars + new pics from today

Kristen Stewart arrived at the 2013 Oscars wearing a beautiful Reem Acra couture gown paired with an unexpected accessory: crutches.

While we learned that the Twilight star cut her foot on glass days before the big event, we took a closer look at her head-to-toe ensemble and discovered that she actually wore a mismatched pair of shoes on the red carpet to compensate for her unfortunate injury.

That's right, we learned that the actress stepped out in one Bloch Fonteyn ballet flat and one Jimmy Choo Vibe platform peep-toe heel (in white satin to match her dress), making for a slightly awkward and unbalanced style statement.

We think Bloch ballet flats are charming and classy, and given her circumstances, we're wondering why she wouldn't simply go with a completely coordinated look?

Beneath her dress, Kristen wore one nude satin Jimmy Choo “Vibe” open toe platform pump and a silver “Fonteyn” ballet flat from Bloch.

Why would you wear two totally different shoes? And not even the same color...

Jesus, talk about a high heel. She should have just worn the flats altogether.

I think it would make more sense to wear flats too...it's very odd to have one heel you have to walk on...

mte, esp considering she doesnt often wear high heels to begin with

You might not have noticed she was limping then though.

Probably because she wouldn't have been limping at all. In the video someone posted on the next page, she goes from one foot to the other pretty easily for someone who "severely" cut her foot.

Would have made sense but this is Kristen Stewart who did this so..

Right? It's not like you can even see the shoes under a gown. Plus, surely having a heel on the non-injured foot would make you put more pressure on the injured one, thus causing more pain? And NO ONE could walk in one flat and one heel, even without an injured foot. It's just all so ridiculous.

MTE. She hates wearing heels anyway, so you'd think she'd milk the one time she has a legitimate excuse not to wear them.

would that have fucked up the length of the dress though? idk.
judgmental 27th-Feb-2013 01:32 am (UTC)
but if she had then people wouldn't be talking about her
baby_mina 27th-Feb-2013 02:29 am (UTC)
I know! my balance would be awkward without an injured foot wearing one megaheel and one flat.
kristinkat 27th-Feb-2013 03:25 am (UTC)
you can't even see the shoes anyway

I dont understand why she didnt wear flats on one foot, and then a walking boot on the injured foot and just walk with a cane...crutches seem RIDICULOUS when a walking boot literally alleviates nearly all the pressure off an injured foot, and a cane looks much better. IE plenty of celebs have walked carpets with canes because of injuries to their feet/legs/toes whatever. I legit have never seen a celeb hobble with a pair of crutches in a designer gown tho...
