The CW sets Finale Dates for Arrow, Vampire Diaries & more

The CW on Tuesday became the first broadcast network to unveil their season finale plan for spring, and the annual goodbye tour begins with The Carrie Diaries in early April.

All of the network’s other series, however, will wrap their runs in May (the sweeps period runs April 25 to May 22), with Hart of Dixie leading the way and Nikita bringing up the rear. Thus far, only Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and Arrow have been renewed for fall.

(Before anybody asks, ABC, CBS and Fox typically announce their finale schedules in mid- to late March, while NBC last year held out until April.)

All told, The CW’s confirmed finale plan (as first leaked by The Futon Critic) looks a little something like this:

MONDAY, APRIL 8
8/7c The Carrie Diaries

TUESDAY, MAY 7
8 pm Hart of Dixie

MONDAY, MAY 13
9 pm 90210

TUESDAY, MAY 14
9 pm Cult

WEDNESDAY, MAY 15
8 pm Arrow
9 pm Supernatural

THURSDAY, MAY 16
8 pm The Vampire Diaries
9 pm Beauty and the Beast

FRIDAY, MAY 17
8 pm Nikita

Is Arrow good enough to watch or not?

If you like superhero shows, then yes, watch it. But if you take TV ~seriously, better if you skip.

It starts slow but has gotten really good lately

I really enjoy, tbh. They take a very realistic approach to some big villains and do an interesting job with the origin and the acting (and clearly, budget, unless they're just really adept at working with what they've got) is several notches above most CW shows like Smallville and stuff.

They have some awesome guest stars/regulars - Ben Browder, John Barrowman, Stephen Amell's abs, etc.

Stephen Amell's abs deserve an entire show that is dedicated to them. Their budget will probably go up next year

Amen!

I think they are doing really well with their current budget, tbh. I mean, yeah, sometimes you can clearly see that they're not like a big budget movie, but it looks so much better than Smallville and several other shows did.

ah yes. they use what they've very wisely.
