Dancing with the Stars, Now With Less Actual Stars Than Ever!

Get ready to rumba!

With season 16 of Dancing With the Stars just weeks away, 12 new cast members – including former Olympic champs Dorothy Hamill and Aly Raisman, as well as Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump – were announced on Good Morning America Tuesday.

There may also be a country music rivalry in the ballroom: two singers, Wynonna Judd and Kellie Pickler, will dance this season. Check out the full list of competitors below.

i don;t watch this show but it seems to have more stars than usual. sadly lisa van der pump is probably more relevant now than a lot of the d listers who actually have talent that they usually get

The only star needed is my boo Tristan. Hopefully Dorothy won't be a flop and he'll at least make it to the finals.

I can tell you that Dorothy will not do latin very well. I saw her sort of half heartedly skating on one of those shows and she was slooow. Yes, she's a lot older now but compared to the other skates she was slow. Tristan is the designated Jonathan (the guy who takes care of the geriatrics and people with half a brain or missing limbs). So sad.

I wish they brought back some of the other skaters (Rosalyn Summers, Debbie Thomas, Jane Torvill!). Now I would watch that.

Man, I'd <3 <3 <3 for them to get Jayne Torvill, but American viewers would be all "Who the fuck is Jayne Torvill?"

Victor Ortiz, Wynonna Judd, Andy Dick, Dorothy Hamill, and D.L. Hughley are all pretty well-known people.

In particular Dorothy Hamill. She is to 1976 what Tara Lipinski was to 1998, only she wasn't 16 at the time so it wasn't quite as impressive in the eyes of the public.

Aly Raisman was captain of the US Olympic Gymnastics team, but no1curr because they were looking at Gabby Douglas. I kind of feel bad because she did take the gold on the Floor Exercise, but according to comment on page 1, she's a bitch, so maybe that'll make for interesting TV.

Yeah, it's actually an above average cast in name recognition.

Aly actually seems to be scoring more gigs than Gabby, which saddens me. I think she's a lot more popular than NBC would have had people believe.

Aly gave a better performance in Tokyo at Worlds the year before, so she probably has better representation and therefore probably had shit lined up before she even laid eyes on the Olympic Villa.

Think of it as Gabby being more focussed on Rio.

from what i heard, the reason aly was chosen out of all of the fierce five is because she's the only one of legal age, and TPTB did not want a repeat of the legal headache they had when shawn johnson first appeared on the show.

This: • Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman is legitimately the only name I recognise, and that's due to having kids who mainline US TV shows. She is on a dancing show though! CHEAT! ;)

I'm rooting for Jacoby, not just because I am a Ravens fan, but he is completely different from other NFL stars they've had on so far. That guy is eclectic and definitely has a personality.

Plus, his celebration dances are legit.
