it seemed stupid the way Mouse and Seth broke up. they didn't even TRY to see if they could find a better balance with their studies first.
i also thought it was weird how George was suddenly a jerk when he seemed reasonable before
then again sometimes that's how it is IRL
one thing I did like was that Maggie told Carrie the truth. it could have gone the predictable way with her trying to undermine Carrie or w/e and make sure she didn't get back with Sebastian, blah blah, but they did something fairly surprising
PS IS IT JUST ME OR DID DONNA'S LIPS GET EVEN BIGGER THIS WEEK
Yeah, George's sudden personality switch was weird. Almost too convenient for the plot (especially considering how sweet he was earlier in the same episode).
I loved that Maggie told her straight away. That was a pleasant surprise, because I was expecting her to actually try to keep Carrie away from Sebastian.
Exactly. I start out an episode thinking Dorrit is the worst, then I feel bad for her by the end, but then in the next episode it's the same thing. She's the worst, then I feel bad for her. After five episodes in, I'm starting to notice it and I'm just going to not care anymore.
i saw the pilot and asked to see my aunts pictures and from what i've seen of my aunt's old high school pictures, NO. although some of the extras wore 80s styled clothes for the most part the wardrobe on this show is just influenced by the 80s or what people imagine what it was like.
I'm still loving everything about this show--except for Dorrit. I'm hoping now that we're through all of the holidays we can get past the "It's different from Mom/Stop trying to replace Mom/I miss Mom" repeated story cycle. Because at this point every time she shows up I visibly cringe.
Also, I was surprised that the big Nutcracker trip looked like it was some janky high school gym production. They are close enough to NYC that I thought the big trip with her mom every year would be going to NYC to see the ballet.
Too bad Carrie's boyfriend turned out to be a jerk. And I am starting to feel bad for Maggie--she knows something is wrong in her relationship and she thinks it's her, so I felt bad for her there because it's really not *her*.
I must have missed part of the pilot--does Larissa not know Carrie is a high school student? Cause isn't that going to make it hard to actually work at Interview? She'll have to fill out some kind of HR paperwork and they're going to know she's only 16.
i dont think Larissa knows? cuz she always makes all those "omg youre so dumb and innocent lolz" comments. but idk maybe i missed something. and idk why but i always get the feeling theres something really sketchy about larissa...
I like the little things they do that throwback to the tv show, like when Carrie said to shoot her or something if she's still dating and worrying about men in her 30's. This show is the equivalent to a bubblegum pop song or popcorn movie. I know I shouldnt like it, but its so fun.
George looks and sounds like the non caveman younger brother version of Jared Padelecki.
According to IMDB, Jake Robinson (Bennett) will be in the next episode.
