Audrey Hepburn Stars in New Chocolate Ad

Audrey Hepburn is set to take our screens by storm once again this weekend, over fifty years after her heyday, in a new chocolate advert.

Cinema's finest star is brought back to life thanks to clever use of computer generated imagery in the new commercial from Galaxy.

The clip will debut this Sunday during ITV's Mr Selfridge and is set during the 1950s on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, conjuring up hints of Hepburn's classic movie roles - including 1953's Roman Holiday, for which she won an Oscar.

The ad uses the soundtrack Moon River, the Academy Award-winning song written for the actress and first performed in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It also features a custom-made vintage polka dot dress.

Edit: from a different article
This time, Hepburn’s sons, who control her estate, authorised the use of her image, for which they will have received a fee. Sean Ferrer and Luca Dotti say their mother would be “proud” of her new role, adding in a press release that she “often spoke about her love of chocolate and how it lifted her spirit”.

She was so beautiful, it's so unfair.

This is also a little creepy.
microminiscrew 25th-Feb-2013 11:40 pm (UTC)
I expected to be creeped but it was okay. Maybe because I'm indifferent about her, idk. My question is why? Does she and the chocolate brand have some connection?
luna_potterhead 25th-Feb-2013 11:41 pm (UTC)
I've only seen her in Breakfast at Tiffany's, which was alright, but I began watching Sabrina the other night and couldn't finish it. Am I missing something? She's gorgeous and her charity efforts were awesome, but what movie is best to watch for actual talent?
champagnexdream 25th-Feb-2013 11:43 pm (UTC)
My fave of hers is Roman Holiday.
eaglefan2011 25th-Feb-2013 11:47 pm (UTC)
Same, I love that movie
misscrystal25 25th-Feb-2013 11:45 pm (UTC)
I think the remake of Sabrina with Harrison Ford is much, much better!
maebytonight 25th-Feb-2013 11:46 pm (UTC)
I'm neutral when it comes to Audrey (as an actress and as a person) but I enjoyed Roman Holiday.

well if humphrey bogat is to be believed, she was a 'rank amateur who needed a dozen takes'
essayisdue 25th-Feb-2013 11:49 pm (UTC)
Watch My Fair Lady. She's great in that, plus the movie itself is delightful.

she was talented enough, Roman Holiday is really good...tbh though I think this is similar to other old Hollywood folks like Marilyn Monroe and such where people are more in love with the idea of her moreso than her as an individual.
ritzyroxie 25th-Feb-2013 11:56 pm (UTC)
Shirley Maclaine steals the movie, but Audrey is still wonderful in The Children's Hour.
moddchicc 25th-Feb-2013 11:56 pm (UTC)
Wait Until Dark is also great. It's a suspense film and probably my favorite dramatic performance by Audrey

She's gorgeous and her charity efforts were awesome
THIS is pretty much what I adore about her.
All of her films that I've watched have been ok but none of them are among my favorite films and I actually didn't like Breakfast at Tiffany's. I enjoyed War & Peace quite a bit even though it's different from the book, and I thought her performance in My Fair Lady was good :)

Aww, I love Sabrina! But mostly for Bogie than anything else.

Audrey won her oscar for Roman Holiday, so I'd recommend that. Most of her movies are cutsey romcoms, although Wait Until Dark was a great thriller and always gets a place on scariest movie moments lists.

I agree with an above poster that people like her for what she represents and the image she presented outside of movies the most, though - I prefer Grace Kelly in terms of acting skill.

Wait Until Dark. Hands down, her best film. The others have the best fashion and Roman Holiday is also amazing because she was SO young and very 'ingenue' didn't know how good she was sort of thing, but Wait Until Dark is just perfect.

roman holiday, the nun's story, the children's hour, sabrina, funny face, my fair lady (i'm pretty sure it's not her singing tho)

she's not an amazing actress, but she has her moments and she definitely has a presence on screen.

Roman Holiday- her very first movie and the one that won her an Oscar. It's a fun little romantic romp with an ending that I dare not spoil. Her chemistry with Gregory Peck is amazing, and it's a downright shame that they didn't do more movies together.

Charade- Often referred to as the best Hitchcock film he never made. It's got all the classic thriller elements- dark, tongue-in-cheek humor, suspense so thick you can cut it with a knife, misdirects, and more twists and turns than your lower digestive system.

Wait Until Dark- Hepburn’s second thriller in which she plays a blind woman (really well, I might add) terrorized in her own home by a group of thieves who believe she is accidentally in possession of expensive narcotics (heroin, if I’m not mistaken). Again, it’s very Hitchcock-ish with enough suspense to constantly keep you on the edge of your seat.

Kinda creepy but cute.Actually I don't even know what to think.
misscrystal25 25th-Feb-2013 11:43 pm (UTC)
I think what makes it obviously creepy is that the eyes are not right. And I think it's pretty much impossible to replicate someone's eyes.
essayisdue 25th-Feb-2013 11:48 pm (UTC)
That's not creepy at all....
makemeyoung 25th-Feb-2013 11:52 pm (UTC)
I never quite understand stuff like this. Her style and such is so distinct that this easily could have been done as as homage, with a modern actress/model dressing like her and having it done in the 50s style.
x_rose_tyler_x 25th-Feb-2013 11:53 pm (UTC)
It was kinda cute, and I found it less creepy than the Dior commercial.
ritzyroxie 25th-Feb-2013 11:56 pm (UTC)
Came here to say this.
x_brittacular 25th-Feb-2013 11:57 pm (UTC)

I saw this earlier and was sooo creeped out. I thought they had hired a lookalike and plastic surgery-d her into Audrey (my imagination is huge)
