it would have literally made everything 10000 times worse. if her foot hurts, she's going to have to bear more weight down on the injured foot while picking up the foot in the heel, rather than doing a quick and barely noticeable hobble in shoes on equal ground. i haven't watched the oscars yet so i haven't seen her gait for myself but if she was more comfortable in flats they should have fucking let her wear flats.
