Anne Hathaway’s Awful Acceptance Speeches: An Annoying Look Back

Anne Hathaway has been everywhere this year for her award winning performance in Les Miserables — and it has been awful. For someone who is so talented and so aware she is going to win every award she is nominated for, this girl has been giving acceptance speeches that are getting worse and worse. And then, somehow, even worse.
So before she makes what will no doubt be the most painful speech of tomorrow’s Oscars, let’s take a look back at all these grating moments below. Just make sure you have a drink handy.

I love Anne, but I was feeling a rush of secondhand embarrassment all throughout this award season from her speeches. She sounded too rehearsed and staged, even though she probably meant to come off genuine.
We let her win and listen to her give ONE MORE annoying speech. She now disappears for at least 5 years and we don't have to see or hear her.
she's just not as good as hiding it as some.
She should be a decent enough actress to quench/hide the thirst! I don't think that's expecting too much!
She and JLaw couldn't win with people either way.
She's not on the clock, though. Unless she gets to add "Academy Awards - Role of "Best Supporting Actress" to her resumé and charge a fee, she's under no obligation to put on a show.
she may have been everywhere but she was gracious the whole time
I still don't understand why she gets more shit than Jennifer Lawrence who often insults other women in Hollywood .... she just does it lowkey
receipts?
(and no her snl monologue does not count)
I don't like Anne tbh, but she's pretty harmless. JLaw is actually harmful, but never gets shit on bc she's ~young~ and ~ uneducated, ugh. Actually, Anne's growing on me bc some of the stuff she's said about issues like weight (until her campaign), homosexuality, her upskirt pic, etc.
like REALLY bugs me
but the people giving her shit for saying that she hopes no women have to go through what fantine did because ~there's no more turn of the century french prostitutes~......do know that unwilling prostitution still exists, right?
I really liked that she said this. Kinda annoyed at the jokes about French prostitutes in that era because women still deal with the exact same story of Fantine today.
I'm glad I missed her speech at the BAFTAs
I just don't like disingenuous shock - bitch you know all the awards were yours to lose, so don't give me the faux shock shit. Walk on to the stage and say "cheers, I really did own it, see you later" or something
