'We Saw Your Boobs': Seth MacFarlane's Oscar Song Draws Ire From Viewers

Seth MacFarlane's work as Oscar host at the 85th annual Academy Awards was as much of a mixed bag as many had expected. MacFarlane combined genuine old-school showmanship (he sang "The Way You Look Tonight," for instance) with off-color jokes about race, religion and sex.

"The best moment of Seth MacFarlane's Oscars hosting gig may have come late in the night when, in announcing Meryl Streep, he said 'our next presenter needs no introduction' ... and then just walked away," wrote Spencer Kornhaber for The Atlantic. "If only he'd kept his mouth shut more frequently."

That was certainly the opinion of many after MacFarlane performed a song titled "We Saw Your Boobs" during his opening monologue. Well, sort of performed: The premise of the bit -- that MacFarlane was being told by a from-the-future William Shatner about his Oscar night failings, including the inappropriate song about actresses taking off their tops -- didn't stop MacFarlane from actually singing the song on the broadcast.

"We saw your boobs," MacFarlane sang, before rattling off famous actresses and the movies in which they disrobed. The Oscar host mentioned actress like Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart, Kate Winslet and Jodie Foster.

"As a fun game, count how many actresses he mentions in this song who are portraying rape victims," wrote Vulture. That was picked up by some on Twitter as well.

Of course, MacFarlane's night of edgy humor didn't stop there. Here's a joke he made about Rihanna and Chris Brown:

Here's how MacFarlane introduced "Django Unchained": "This is the story of a man fighting to get back his woman, who's been subjected to unthinkable violence. Or as Chris Brown and Rihanna call it, a date movie." The reference to Brown's 2009 assault of Rihanna drew gasps from the audience in Hollywood's Dolby Theatre. Rihanna and Brown are now once again an item.

To be fair, I don't think Chris Brown/Rihanna jokes are off the table anymore since they're dating again. I think it's nice to remind everyone that he's an asshole and for some reason she's back with him.

Chris Brown/Rihanna jokes weren't off the table because they broke up, they were off the table because he beat the shit out of her and tried to murder her. Their reconciliation has nothing to do with the "joke" being inappropriate.

But not only are they back together, both of them try to rub it in our faces for our reactions.
I see no problem rubbing in their faces how fucked up they are.

ia, I can't at people saying that joke was directed at ALL domestic violence victims. It was CLEARLY a joke about THEM.

they're not trying to rub anything in our faces. they're just back together and clearly happy. whatever, that's their business. but what happened to her isn't funny at all. no woman's abuse should be used as a joke and this thought that because she went back to him and doesn't hide it means she deserves to be mocked i don't understand.

Chris Brown is fucked up, Rihanna is not. Don't victim-blame, it's not cute. A joke like that does not need to be made at the Academy Awards.

I agree, but not for what he did though.

People seem to think that because Rihanna isn't sympathetic anymore due to her "fuck you, mind your own business" attitude it makes it ok to make light of this serious issue with jokes. Many victims go back to their abuser over and over again. Not sure mocking her (or domestic violence) is going to help that situation.

OIC so because she went back to him now it's hilarious and she deserves what she gets. No. The jokes might be aimed towards him, but she's still a victim, and it's gross. Why do people have to constantly remind her of it? I'm sure if she's back with someone so violent she already has enough problems.

they deserve it...and Robert Downey Jr in the audience had the best reaction. She's a dumb ass
