Quvenzhané Wallis, the Academy Award-nominated star of "Beasts of the Southern Wild," will star in the title role of a new film production of the musical "Annie" for Overbrook Entertainment, Marcy Media, director Will Gluck and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

They'll probably give the part to a 25-year-old it girl. But if they don't, Emma Thompson wrote the movie and I think she'd make a great Miss Hannigan.

Now see this I can get behind. I just wasn't crazy before about Will Smith obtaining the rights for something just to use it as a vehicle for one of his children without their being any kind of auditioning at all. She's adorable and was incredible in Beasts.

I know that we've had a remake of the musical somewhat recently but it was terrible (and I love Victor Garber but dear God was it fucking awful) so it can only go up from there.

it looks like there is so much garbage. there is a movie starring john leguizamo called the trip 2, a brittany snow/sasha grey torture porn flick called would you rather, and a movie starring LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS I AM DEAD AND GONE

at least last year they had the kid with a bike and oslo august 31st
