Howard Stern defends Kelly Clarkson in "sickening" Clive Davis row
Howard Stern has jumped to Kelly Clarkson's defense in her recent row with Clive Davis.
Clarkson recently complained about Davis after he made a series of allegations about her in his memoir The Soundtrack of My Life.
"I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans," she wrote.
Davis later defended his version of events, describing it as an "accurate depiction" and adding that "five independent individuals" had fact checked the account.
However, Stern has now heaped criticism upon Davis following the controversy.
Speaking on his SiriusXM radio show, he said: "I always find it sickening when management guys like to set the record straight about how f**king creative and what geniuses they are. "And this guy's trying to diminish what she does? Doesn't he have enough in life? Can't he sort of tell his story without f**king degrading her and putting her down?"
Stern added: "I think she's got an amazing voice and the girl has worked hard to get to where she is. I don't understand Clive Davis's motivation in knocking this chick down."

This old queen only dragged it back out of 2007 again to stir up controversy and publicity for his shitty book.
Anyhow, I agree with the gist of your comment 100%.
Not that I don't awtc...
surprisingly, i see no lies here
Ugh. My stepdad, who is a major misogynist, always refers to women that way. Only he actually means in it in a offensive way when he says it. I dunno about Howard's intentions but I imagine (or like to hope) his intentions weren't the same.
And yes, I realize this is a rather frivolous thing to be bothered by, but it just ~brings back memories~.
I think it's because I associate "chick" with American pop culture and it's not an expression used where I come from, whereas "bird" is.

broad and "female" are more annoying to me.
basically clive is bully who is trying to rewrite history to make himself seem better at the expensive of kelly.
Lbr, fans and artists alike are quick to blame management when a commercial release fails.
Using ONTD as my main example -- how often do people say things like, "LOL Floptina's album flopped" or "C-Error just needs to stop, her albums suck." versus "Management had no idea what they were doing and didn't know how to promote it."
I see one of those latter comments for about 60 of the first two.
Management/labels play a massive part in making an artist, in particular in the commercial pop genre. It's often the case of powers that be seeking out a "tomboy type" or a "vulnerable Fiona Apple type but commercial" or something similar and then seek out the people to fill that role that has been considered as having commercial potential in the music market right now, rather than the artists being truly discovered. That person is then groomed with selecting the right songwriters, stylists and label coughing up enough payola, in particular at the beginning of their careers when they are still young and easily led.
Obviously in the end it does come to the artist, whether the public embraces them or not, but management/labels do play a huge part.
(Kelly's career obviously doesn't completely follow this pattern because of AI, but generally speaking).
But, yes, I did cry in his office once. I cried after I played him a song I had written about my life called "Because Of You." I cried because he hated it and told me verbatim that I was a "sh*tty writer who should be grateful for the gifts that he bestows upon me." He continued on about how the song didn't rhyme and how I should just shut up and sing. This was devastating coming from a man who I, as a young girl, considered a musical hero and was so honored to work with.
Good for Kelly that BoY became super-successful!
Clive is another Lou Pearlman lbrh. he's an asshole
REPEATEDLY, too. Like I never could hear Whitney's name without his attached. I swear that shit was in ink somewhere.
kelly has been saying this for a while now and she's 100% not the person to go out and seek publicity.
I'm no less offended by the things he says while earning his bread when he does say offensive and idiotic things, but I'm never surprised when he forms a coherent, reasoned, and fair response to something.
