I really like how in-touch with the public and the media the Obamas are. It makes them more endearing.

yep. I didn't like Shrub but i feel like we never saw Laura. Even my mom said that she'd never seen a first lady who was so out of the spotlight. It's been great to see a first lady whose present and available and seems awesome.

Yes. They seem like even though they are two people that millions and millions of people would kill to meet, they still embarrass the ever loving shit out of their daughters too. It's like they're super cool, but really normal too.

Agreed. While the frequent talk show appearances and silly photo ops are nice, they can get a little overbearing. They are The First Family, after all, not just another celebrity family.

yeah it's good for them. allows president obama to consistently screw his base without really getting called on it because he's so damn endearing (if you don't pay very close attention).

I love that. I mean, Clinton knew how to charm the masses but the Obamas just bring it to another level. Makes me want to track down Palin and go, "What was that about being entitled intellectuals?"
